SOUTHARD COMFORT at The Truman Annex in Key West
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! Southard Comfort is on Southard Street in the TRUMAN ANNEX, which is one of the most beautiful peaceful retreats and uniquely close to everything, Key West. We are only two blocks from the main Duval Street with it’s bustling shopping, bars, restaurants, & nationally renowned entertainment spots. Southard Comfort is one block from the infamous Green Parrot and is walking and biking distance to everything you will require for a comfortable stay. There is the Truman Waterfront Park for the children with beautiful sunset and water views just a hop away.
As one of our first guests to enjoy value and comfort in our refreshed, 2 bedroom 1 bath, 2nd floor condominium. You can enjoy televisions in every room, unlimited WIFI, USB charging stations, Keurig and drip coffee makers, washer and dryer, dual balconies and even a front porch. Southard Comfort comes equipped with a light and bright queen bedroom and twins (or King if combined) in the guest room. The condo has been freshly painted, updated and fully air-conditioned and all rooms have tropical ceiling fans. The balconies are situated to provide a wonderful open-air feel and cross breeze. The linens are new, including beach and pool towels. The full kitchen has a large refrigerator, stove with oven, microwave, blender, pots, pans and all the dishes necessary to enjoy a long stay.
Key West boasts an average daily temperature of 82 degrees keeping the ocean water temps at around 80. The Truman Annex SHIPYARD is a clean and safe hideaway, with parking for one car, near all the fun in Key West. Southard Comfort is directly on the parade route for Fantasy Fest and is ideal for couples, families, and seniors. 28 night stay minimum.

Spring Break Getaway
We stayed here in late April and it was perfect. The pool is directly behind the property and we were only a few blocks away from Duval Street, a seafood market, and a grocery store. Place is quiet and clean.

Truman Annex Condos - 5 star location
his property is managed by Compass Realty. Do not expect to communicate with an owner. Nonetheless Compass communicated well before, during and after our stay. They had everything prepared for our arrival and few essentials on hand to help us get started.We love the location of this condo! There’s a waterfront park at the end of the street, it’s minutes away from the beach at the state park and easy walking distance to the best Key West restaurants. We do not rent a car while in Key West because we don’t need one while staying in The Truman Annex. We love this area and hope to return

Southard retreat
We enjoyed our stay at the property. Compass reached out prior to our trip to provide check in instructions and answer any questions which I thought was helpful. The unit was very clean and had everything we needed. We arrived during an unusual cold spell and there were plenty of extra blankets which were needed our first nights! We had everything we needed. We loved the location. By the end of the week it was hot in the unit. That was our only challenge. Otherwise it was a perfect week!

Just a good location...
I said I loved my stay because Key West was awesome, just not the property. Upon our arrival, we ended up having to do laundry. We discovered various types of hair in all of our beds as we pulled the blankets back (some looked like pubic hair) as well as on the pillows. There was also some type of sticky & crusty substance on one of the kids beds. Either way, we felt the need to clean up. The bathroom was another unkept area. The toilet seat had pubic hair left behind and the corner of the shower still had hair left as well. Renters before us were probably charged the cleaning fee and it didn't seem like it was very clean. For such a nice location and price, I expected better. We arrived on a weekend (Saturday night) and emailed the property manager right away. She contacted us Monday. She asked why we didn't call the emergency number. Umm...this wasn't an emergency. Emergency to us means life or death. We also let her know that the shower drain was taking forever to actually drain. We were literally standing in 3 inches of water while showering (could this be an emergency?). Nothing was done to fix this while we were there for the entire week. We are a family of 4. We had to wait about 20 min in between showers. Not fun. The property manager did not address this issue at all. We pretty much questioned the cleanliness of everything in that place from that point on and washed items before use. The good things: the Truman Annex itself is close to the beach (the nicer beach that pay to use). Everything is in walking distance.
