We don't recommend this hotel :(

Unfortunately it was a very disappointed experience. The resort is rather old. It seems they haven't done renovation for years.The rooms really offer the most basic condition. We were unlucky to arrive the resort right after the cyclone Macia. Many buses were damaged according to the front desk. The beauty spot day tour couldn't provide any seats for us(and it is overpriced). There is a big waiting list which has way enough people for arranging another way of transportation, but the front desk does nothing to help us poor tourists who came all the day here for Fraser Island. We stuck in the resort ended up organizing our own taxi, which is super overpriced. I told the front desk to pass on the msg to others who are also trying to organize their own trips to share the taxi with us. But the front desk did nothing to help us. We had to ask every possible guests in the resort ourselves.Many staffs are quite new and international staffs seem to be not familiar with the local info, not to mention they were not intend to help either.Kingfisher resort tends to keep every possible serive being provided only by themselves and monoplise the market on Fraser Island. Overall, we cannot recommend this hotel because considering the poor service, old facility, the very basic condition it offers JUST DOESN'T WORTH THE MONEY THEY CHARGE.

There was a red flashing light in the main bedroom that continued during the night and was so bright it lit up the room and the fan was so noisy. Could not sleep much for 3 nights spoke to reception and nothing was done. Staff were un helpful during the stay. They wernt friendly tried to talk and ask questions about different things and they wernt interested in giving answers. Food was very adverage at 2 restaurants and pricy.

Great staff, not matched by the facilities .....

All the resort staff we met were friendly, keen to help and knowledgeable. The resort Rangers were exceptional, we attended 5 guided walks and talks about K'gari's plants and animals and geology. Each Ranger was extremely knowledgeable about their subject matter, and communicated in a clear and engaging style with a wide range of people who attended the activities However, the general condition of the resort was less than expected, and bordered on being "tired". Money needs to be spent of improving the resort centre and the rooms in our opinion The on-site food outlets were expensive for the quality offered, while the "village" shop price gauged by 30%+ compared to shops on the mainland

Kingfisher Resort offered most things, we were disappointed that one of the pools was closed. One of the restaurants (Sand Bar and Bistro) was also closed. This left limited options for meal times. Staff were turning people away from the main Sand and Wood restaurant and advising people to go to Dune instead. This was despite only four tables being occupied! Not good when you have only just arrived.

Very comfortable and spacious family villa, requested air conditioning and loved how cool.the summer nights were with this feature. The customer service on check in was extremely good, the power had gone out but it was still easy and the lady serving was very friendly. The only thing that was disappointing was there were ants in our villa and we didn't realise so they managed to get into my sons birthday cake, when I asked a staff member at reception if there were any options to try and replace it with something, even just a muffin or anything? and still sing happy birthday she just said no, she didn't even ask the kitchen or anything.

Jungle experience

Really nice place to stay when visiting K´Gari. The room was nice but smelled a little bit of mould. Big bathroom with a big nice window. The restaurant closest to the pool was disturbed from kids playing and shouting. When we asked for another table the staff couldn't help us. The full day excursion was on the other hand awesome!

The 2 bedroom spa villa was well equipped with plenty of space for the family. Comfy beds and very clean.
