Wonderful vacation house

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at this property. Lots of stuff to do in the area. The dock was great for bringing the boat. The game room was awesome for the teenagers and they spent quite a bit of time playing. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect family getaway

Love everything about our stay! The house is amazing and immaculate. Spent most of our time in the game room and hot tub. You can tell a lot of thought and effort went into this gem of a cottage. Looking now to book again soon :)

Great Family Getaway

House is in a great location and has everything you need for a fun family getaway. We enjoyed the view, fishing from the dock, and kayaking in the canal. Appreciated not having to pack beach chairs and gear. Would book again!

Great place!

Great spot for first time outer banks visit

This property was amazing and well maintained. There was a brief issue with checking in but a short phone call and the property manager was able to get us in quickly. Even before we arrived he made sure we had everything we needed and answered all of our questions.What can I say about the actual house- the location is beautiful and the indoor hot tub was so relaxing! We loved all the helpful notes and the house had everything we could have wanted or needed. We are already thinking of when we can return!

Great communication!

We had a great time at the Canal Daze! Great stay for groups/large families. This house has everything you need to just show up and enjoy your stay! Coming from far at with kids, we loved that the house was equipped and we did not have to pack additional items (beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, sheets).

Gem of a Property in OBX

We had a great stay at Canal Daze and are hoping for another time to stay longer. Property has plenty of space, a fun game room and was convenient to numerous area highlights. The dog friendly house had a fenced backyard (glad our dog isn't a swimmer 😂), the kids loved the bunk bed room and we loved the extra sun room off the master bedroom. Only recommendation is to have the cleaners do a deep clean throughout as many surfaces are pretty dusty.

Spring Break Get Away

The home was perfect for our family! All of the extras listed were fun and appreciated - kayaks were used as well as the game room and movie room, hot tub, and fire pit for roasting marshmallows! Decor was lovely - and everything in the kitchen was labeled and so easy to find items in the well supplied kitchen! Our host checked in with us and promptly answered any of our questions! Amazing!!!

Canal Daze is definitely the retreat we were looking for. The check in and check out process was a breeze and the hosts were prompt responders. The house was clean and spacious. While there's plenty to do in the OBX, you don't have to leave this house to have a fun relaxing time. From the pool table, to ping pong, to the movie room, to the hot tub, to the firepit and fishing outside, you're never in want of finding something to do. We will definitely be back!

Amazing Home

This property was perfect for a winter getaway. With the game room, media room and hot tub there was plenty to enjoy inside the home. There are lots of cozy places to play games or read a book and so much fun to be had while making smores by the firepit. The house and property was very clean and kept up. The beds were comfortable. Everything in the kitchen was easy to find and it was well stocked. I absolutely would recommend this property and hope to stay here again in the future.

Great stay sound side!

Enjoyed a week at the beach in this home with all the amenities! Had total of 11 (two combined families including 5 kids) and everyone had ample room! Kids loved the game room, we enjoyed crabbing off the dock, and were within 12 mins to the beach! The house had everything we needed to make meals, paddle board and kayak in the canal, and watch movies when it stormed one day. Also close proximity to the Wright brothers national park and sand dunes state park… so much to do, the week flew by! Thanks to Aaron and Jamie for being great hosts and going the extra mile to respond whenever we had any small hiccups!

Great accommodations - perfect for a large family

Home was exactly as described and pictured. House works well to host a family or extended family/friends. Beds were all comfortable. The game room in the basement was a great addition for whenever the weather did not cooperate. Bed sheets are cleaned in sealed plastic bags when you arrive - just be prepared to make your own beds that first day (no issue for us; but I could see being an issue if arriving late). Great communication from owners; checked in with us mid-stay to make sure everything was as we expected.

Off-Season Fun Getaway

We’ve never thought much of vacationing on the coast during the off-season, but staying at this house over New Years definitely changed our minds! Between the super-fun game room, awesome array of equipment for outdoor activities, and the well-kept hot tub and outdoor fire pit, we never ran out of things to do and most definitely had a blast! The owner was very responsive and provided everything we could’ve needed and… it was really great that we were able to bring our dogs. Awesome time had by all! Happy New Year and Thank you!

Second stay at Canal Daze; another great experience!

We enjoy the off-season temperatures and fewer crowds. Canal Daze is a great place to experience all that the Outer Banks has to offer. The amenities this property has allow us to plan a rest day and be as busy or lazy as we want to be! Playing pool, watching movies, sitting out on the canal in the early morning, all very relaxing. Aaron and Jamie are engaged and responsive. They recommended Higher Grounds, a coffee and ice cream business just outside the gated community, and that provided another great, local experience! Definitely a 5 out of 5 rating!

Amazing Sound Front Home in OBX

My husband and I had a wonderful vacation at Canal Daze. The location was perfect and close to everything in OBX, and the house was impeccable. The indoor hot tub, shower, and bar area was amazing! The kitchen was well equipped with crab pots (huge bonus for us) and coffee bar area. The backyard fence area was also perfect for our dog. The wrapped beach towels and sheets were such an impressive detail as well. Lastly Aaron was a wonderful host checking in on us (via email). Best Family vacation!

Our daughter and son-in-law live in Kill Devil Hills. My husband and I have rented homes many times throughout the years. This visit was quite special for us. It was our granddaughter's first birthday and all of our kids and their families were able to join us. This was the first time in over 10 years we have been able to have everyone in the same house! This house just made our trip. So much for everyone to do. Our 13- and 11-year-old grandsons told us that this was the best house and the best vacation that they've had! Thank you, Aaron and Jamie, for having this very special house available on VRBO! It was Super nice, and we had everything that we ever needed. We have used many realtors for rent search in the past and NONE of the homes have been as equipped, cleaned and tastefully decorated as this one. Highly recommend!

Canal Daze

Canal Daze is an amazing home for families, especially with children. The hosts have thought of everything to keep you entertained and if you didnt want to you would never have to leave the home! A gameroom with a pool table, ping pong table, fooseball and basketball game. Movie room with lots of movies to choose from and tons of table games. The outdoor area did not disappoint! Everyone enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards and especially the hot tub. The kitchen was well stocked with all the items you will need. We grilled several nights and although their was a fire pit, we were so busy we didnt even have a chance to use it! The home is beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the community beach several times as well as the pool. Aaron was a pleasure to work with and any situation we ran into, he was quick to respond. The only downside were the stairs. If you are old like me you will want to minimize your up and down trips! Overall a great experience!

Thoughtfully Appointed and Truly A Favorite!

First and most importantly, Aaron and Jamie are amazing host. From before our stay and even after, they were both available to ask questions and answer within a timely manner, were available when needed, and they both made sure the experience we had in Canal Daze was nothing but the best. To say they went above and beyond is an understatement. Our family is truly appreciative of all the extras you honestly didn’t have to do. Canal Daze has everything one could possibly need in a vacation home and then some. Kayaks and paddle boards, fire pit, game room, theatre room, bikes, and toys, family board games, and so much more it was evident that family time was just as important to them as it is to us. Access to the community pool and playground, as well as the sound beach, was an added bonus. The house is one of our favorites that we’ve stayed in for many reasons - the location, the cleanliness (I really hope our Goldens didn’t leave too much hair), the quietness, the beauty in the home and around it, the family atmosphere, and again, the amazing people who own it. Even with some unexpected bumps in the roads, which happens in life, it was perfect. We all thank you for the wonderful experience you allowed our family to have.

Amazing in Every Way

Um. There is literally nothing Canal Daze hosts haven’t thought of. My sister’s and my families have taken Beach trips to Cape Cod, Long Island, several Jersey Shore beaches, and finally ventured to OBX. We have stayed in beautiful places close to wonderful beaches and activities, but this house combined with its location is really second to none. The house itself is perfect- plenty of space for 2 fams w kids ranging from 8-20, 2 couples, and 2 dogs. Everyone- EVERYONE- was happy with their accommodations.But by far, the canal in the back is just too perfect. Every morning we sat w coffee, and every day we put the kayaks and paddle boards in the water to play around. The boys sat on the dock everyday fishing and crabbing. The beach is a quick drive w close parking. Jockey Ridge is a few minutes down the road and beautiful for sunsets and kite flying. And then the house itself with the game room was the perfect place to return every night- ping pong, bball, pool- puzzles, cards/ and LOVE the “tips” in every room left by the hosts to make everything easy. It’s an organizers dream!!itl if you’re coming to the Outer Banks, there is no question- this is where you should stay. This is a hike for us (from NJ) but we hope to be back. We were so sad to leave this morning!! Thank you to our wonderfully helpful and kind hosts!!

Wonderful property!

I recently traveled to OBX with my family and family friends. There were 13 of us in all, with kids ranging from 10-17. Our stay exceeded expectation! The house is beautiful and is as pictured. It was clean and comfortable. There is so much to do in the house itself. Everyone enjoyed the game room, and the canal was so much fun to kayak, paddle board and catch crabs on. There was plenty of space to spread out so that everyone could enjoy what they wanted to do, whether it was nap, read a book, watch a movie or play games. The beds were very comfortable. There were two large tables for dining which worked out perfectly for a large group. As far as location, it was about a 10 minute drive to the ocean itself. There are plenty of public access parking lots. This was never an issue. We rented bikes and even rode them to the beach one morning. There are bike lanes everywhere. The sound beach and community pool are about a 1.5 mile away. We rode our bikes there several times, but it is a very quick car ride. The entire community was very friendly. The Wright Bros Memorial is just down the road, and there are so many stores and restaurants just a short car ride away. Communication with the owners was great, and they checked in to make sure all was well. We had no issues during our stay. I highly recommend this property!
