Dont let the Church/ cemetery catch you up front. the owners did a fabulous job on the place its beautiful inside. Location is great and quite. the Host are wonderful and great to communicate with.
Went to see Tecumseh outdoor drama = just down the road literally a 5 minute or less drive = perfect. Super clean, spacious, beautiful old church, great hottub! A few wrinkles but host was super communicative and all quickly resolved. A+
This was such a fun place to stay. Great location in the country and yet close to everything. The giant main living area, hot tub and deck were perfect. It lived up to our expectations. Only negatives we ran into were some of the dishes were dirty and needed rewashed. Also we were short on bath towels but just used our own towels we brought for the hot tub. Those issues were minor and we would recommend this location to any one looking for a family get away.
Celebrating our best friends wedding and found this interesting place! It’s beautiful, really! Modernized church with all of the comforts of home, plus really cool architecture and style to look at. We had all the amenities we needed and our host made it easy for us to access everything. The location was quiet and peaceful, the cemetery surrounding us was really fascinating and the scenery was gorgeous. Make sure you keep the noises down after 10pm though! We were a little too loud and disrupted the neighbors. Our apologies for that!
Absolutely recommend staying here though! Is beautiful.
We had a group of seven who stayed at this location. It was very clean, the property was super cool with the cemetery, the hot tub is super well maintained, and it was very peaceful and quiet. There was a lot of space for us to spread out--that is always the hardest part, finding enough seating for everyone in the living room and kitchen, but we had zero issues here. Water pressure in bathrooms was great, there was a firepit (that we didn't end up using due to rain), and the utilities are all like new. I would definitely recommend the Sanctuary! There was no internet connection so we weren't able to use the TV, but we didn't care about that and were warned ahead of time by the hosts. Who were, by the way, very nice and responded quickly to any and all of my questions! It seems like they have several properties they rent out, and I would heavily consider visiting other ones as well if this is how they keep up on all of their locations!
We had the perfect long weekend at the sanctuary! We had friends from all over join us for a 30th birthday celebration. Everyone was able to find the church with ease. The location was perfect. The beds were comfortable and both kitchens well stocked. We will 100% be back with our friend group again.
Loved the old church. It was perfect with young kids. They had the room to run and play. Great large table to enjoy food and games with the whole family. Enjoyed the outside area and listening to the farm animals.
This property is clean and comfortable. As an old church, it’s such a unique place and we enjoyed the quiet location. Quick drive to old man’s cave and Chillicothe for plenty of activities.
Our softball team was playing close by in Chillicothe and The Sanctuary was the perfect fit for a few of the team families to stay. We loved the large living area of the beautifully remodeled church. They were enough seats for everyone PLUS some! Thank you for a great stay!
My stay at Bethel Chapel was incredible. The property is beautiful and surrounded by farmland, creating and extremely peaceful environment. The modern accommodations juxtaposed with the historical building was a welcome surprise. I would definitely stay there again.
My family, friends and I rented the church for a wonderful fall weekend. The property is well appointed and we enjoyed the large space, the firepit and jacuzzi. The space is comfortable and had everything we needed. The area is beautiful, the sunsets and sunrises were stunning!
Interesting property close to Tecumseh outdoor theater, Great Seal state park, and Hopewell Earth Works. The downside was the two hours of mopping up about ten gallons of water flooding the downstairs hallway and bedroom with the bunk beds. Once the maintenance man arrived an hour later and cleaned the outside drain the water issue stopped. The bed in the upstairs gathering area was a bit short of privacy.
The pictures don't really do this property justice. We stayed for a weekend in the fall (the week before Halloween). Scenery is beautiful and graveyard was interesting to explore. The property is spacious and we had more than enough room for the six of us. It can easily accommodate more but the two bathrooms might be limiting for larger groups doing an extended stay. The property was clean and management was very responsive to several questions I had prior to our stay.
We stayed over the weekend for my SIL bachelorette party. When I saw the pictures of Sanctuary, I did see a handful of tombstones. Come to find out, it's in a graveyard. It is spectacularly taken care of and absolutely stunning at sunset. It was a little creepy at first, but warmed up to the neighbors pretty quick. It isn't a huge one, but I think some of the tombstones dates back to the late 1700s, but its hard to see the witing. It was an experience we will never forget! It's renovated beautifully and clean. The pictures do not do it justice!
We had a great three night stay at the Sanctuary. The beds were terrific and the place was very clean. The weather turned cold and the house was toasty warm! Plenty of towels and kitchen well equiped for cooking simple dinner. Wonderful alternative. We really enjoyed the large great room to spend the evenings together.
This place is amazing!!! We would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again. Everything was as described in the listing and we could not have been happier.
