  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Amazing!

Great place and experience! The location could not be more perfect and the condo was exceptionally clean with anything you should need and more! Great patio that is ocean front! Nothing like waking up and drinking coffee on the patio watching the ocean! Definitely will be back!

Peaceful Duck Retreat

We stayed for a quick 2-night getaway in Duck and couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing, welcoming place. The home was spotless, cozy, and very comfortable for all of us—including my 90-year-old mother-in-law, who absolutely loved the peaceful atmosphere and ocean views. The location was ideal—quiet, close to the beach, and just a short drive to shops and restaurants. The porch was a favorite spot for morning coffee and evening chats while listening to the waves. Everything we needed was thoughtfully provided, which made the stay feel like home.The host was incredibly welcoming and communicative, making sure we had all the information we needed for a smooth and enjoyable stay. It was a short trip, but full of wonderful memories. We’d happily return for a longer visit next time!

Great condo

Came here with our 2 young kids. The property was great and very close to the beach with great views! Only bummer was the rainy weather one day but the place was comfortable enough to make it enjoyable. Well appointed kitchen with enough supplies to get us started. Host wasVery responsive to any questions we had.
