Beautiful and cozy spot in Selfranga - beware the hike up

We had a wonderful stay, and think this property would be perfectly suited to a family getaway. The walk from town/train station to the rental was pretty brutal in business attire however, and the bus to the nearby stop only came once per hour, so we were only able to use it once. Very much recommend having a vehicle to stay here if you plan to be coming and going frequently. There was a beautiful trail leaving from behind the property that went along the valley and through some spectacular scenery, so check it out if you're here for a while! Couple of things to note, the 2nd bedroom had only reading-lights and a window for light sources. And there is also no microwave at all so heating leftovers and easy meals required more dishes than normal. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful rental, overall our time at the unit was just what we needed - relaxing. The meadows and views felt secluded but also comfortable and welcoming.

The Perfect New Years Holiday

Our family of 5: 2 parents,2 teen aged boys, and a 9 year old girl stayed in the Goode's clean and comfortable apartment over New Years. For us, it was the perfect set up. There was space for family time-the large living/dining room with 2 big couches and fireplace, plus up to date video and television set up, and there was private space-2 bathrooms, and the master bedroom not adjoining the kid's bunkroom.The apartment was spotless, and the furnishings comfortable.The linens and towels provided were excellent quality, and more than we needed.The use of the laundry facilities was a big plus as well. There was many books, dvds, and tourist info in the apartment.Our boys were happy that the televison had so many channels.We also played ping pong downstairs. There was plenty of wood provided for the fireplace, and the heating system was excellent. The kitchen was well equipped-we actually never ate dinner out, we shopped at Coop and took the bus up the hill every night after our day's activities.I love Coop-there is a great selection of everything you would want,and they sell wine as well.We enjoyed cooking with different ingredients thasn we have at home.The kitchen also was thoughtfully stocked with spices, salt, sugar, tea and coffee.Cleaning products were provided. .The bus stop was less than 10 minutes walk, and the buses frequent enough to meet our needs.Our boys went off skiing themselves every day, and we enjoyed sledding(sleds provided), cross-country skiing, ice skating, and walking around the village.Our daughter enjoyed the Selfranga ski area-just 5 minutes walk from the apartment. The lift operator was very nice and gave her some helpful tips. We did not need a car, tho an elderly or disabled person might. The Goode's were extremely helpful, even offering to purchase some groceries for us so when were arrived after our long plane and train ride, we could eat and go to bed.They also give great advise on the area attractions. We found Klosters to be the perfect Swiss winter sports area-everything is very close by, but no crowds. The train goes to Davos every 30 minutes if you want a little more shopping or something else to do. We love sledding, and there are 4 excellent runs nearby.We were sorry to leave after 2 weeks. We had a perfect 25th Anniversary on New Years Eve, watching the village fireworks over the mountains under a full moon.It was our best family vacation ever! We hope to return someday, and recommend it most highly!
