Area is probably a little more mixed - the hotel themselves don’t recommend walking on the street alone after dark. We just took uber point to point and we were fine. We would always see hotel staff/security so it felt safe enough. One small complaint - we stayed on 5th floor which is right underneath the rooftop bar and could hear some stomping. Could not hear sound from other rooms next door so that bit...

「This review will not do justice to the wonderful gem we found at the Dorp. A most unlikely spot as you climb the very steep hill but an oasis of pleasure awaits you. The high ceilings made it cool during our summer visit. The main lounge is beautifully set out with a wide range of tables and chairs to suit couples and larger groups. 「The staff is very helpful, and my room was huge and included a FULL kitchen with 4-burner stove (I didn't ask for that and am not sure how many rooms have that). The hotel is near the Victoria and Albert Waterfront, one of the most fun and safe places in town to wander around (although it's a full 15 mins walk away, and you can't really safely do that walk after dark; the hotel will suggest that you take a taxi).」
