The true amenities at Kure Beach are on the outside. When your trip brings you to Kure Beach and Pleasure Island, I invite you to make the most of your trip with a stay at The Heart of the Sea. When previously listed on VRBO, The Heart had over 250 - 5 star reviews that were not transferred to this listing. Same owner, just a new listing and the VRBO policies.

The Heart of the Sea is like no other at Kure Beach. Ground floor...corner unit...no stairs...parking less than 10 feet from your front door! While not considered handicap approved, access to the unit with no stairs makes for the perfect vacation home away from home. Simply step out your door and enjoy all Kure Beach has to offer.

As stated previously, The Heart of the Sea is as close as you can get to the ocean at Kure Beach...unless you are in it.

The Heart is ten(10) steps from your beach access. Inside, the bedroom has a comfortable queen size bed, 2 night stands, chest and wall mirror...also, a double closet with plenty of storage space,...and a VCR and 25 inch TV.

There are two bunks(twin size) in the alcove area with storage drawers for all the things the kids need to bring from home or acquire on their vacation. The living room furniture is so cozy comfortable, allowing you to sit in a favorite chair, on the sofa or in the recliner and still take in the amazing views without leaving your house. Spectrum is both the internet and cable provider with their wireless connectivity and Xumo voice controlled remote. You can enjoy the Spectrum Bronze cable package on the 42 inch smart TV.

You will find one bath with a tub/shower combo, lots of counter space, closet and a washer and dryer for your convenience.

Your fully equipped kitchen has a Mr. Coffee maker and a Keurig for your morning boost(of course, coffee is provided). A built in microwave, counter top toaster, toaster oven, blender, and a large spice rack for your convenience. Complete kitchen supplies are there for your use should you decide to eat in, possibly enjoying some of the locally fresh seafood or even your own catch.

You have a view like no other including a 180 degree view of your portion of the 41.1 million square miles of the Atlantic Ocean.. Standing on the deck at 11 feet above sea level has been described by previous guests as standing on the bow of a ship. Could this get any better? Yes it can and it does. Relax with your favorite book or Kindle in one of the two hammock chairs just once and you may never want to leave Kure Beach and Pleasure Island. A fixed table bar on the deck allows for dining from your kitchen or from the charcoal grill located just outside your unit while watching and listening to the mighty Atlantic. Maybe the dolphins will put on a show for you.

When in the mood for sand and surf, bring your umbrella or shibumi and chairs from home or utilize one of the local rental companies, your book or Kindle and relax on the quiet beach that is literally seconds from your door. Let the good times and magic take over.

So much to do in the immediate area and still feel like you are on your own private island. The North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher is one(1) mile away. The Civil War rich Fort Fisher is adjacent to our property. The new visitor's center...$25 million dollar renovation....20,000 square feet of rich history opened in late October of 2024. Admission is free or you can pay for some of the private tours. The property also offers approximately one half(1/2) mile walkway where you can revisit the protection provided for the Port of Wilmington, an enterable Bombproof Shelter Exhibit, and several gun positions.

A little further down the road(approximately two(2) miles) is one location of the North Carolina Ferry System. Current pricing is $7.50 each way for the ride on the Cape Fear river to quaint little town of Southport.
