We spent two weeks here and enjoyed our stay. The owner was very accommodating and willing to assist in making our trip good. The location is perfect for exploring Beaune and both north and south wine towns. We had a few issues with the house but the owner was very good about resolving quickly.
We had a wonderful visit. the house is in a lovely rural setting but still convenient and close to groceries, vineyards and towns. Armand was so helpful and friendly and prompt to fix any problems. Overall a great stay and a good value.
A lovely chateau in the heart of Burgundy. We were a party of 6 adults (3 couples) travelling to France from Australia and stayed 4 nights. Arnaud was always quick to respond to correspondence, and he proved to be a charming, knowledgeable and helpful host. He was there to assist but was never intrusive. The chateau is very well equipped with all the essentials necessary for a comfortable stay. We self catered, had a wonderful chef cook for us, and ate at some lovely restaurants in nearby Beaune. The chateau is very well located in the midst of some of Burgundy's finest wineries. Highly recommended, and hope we can return.
The location is exceptional on three grounds: a great host (Arnaud); great architecture and interior design; great location (ideal center for day trips in Bourgogne.

Wine tasting weekend in Beaune
We loved Beaune but the best thing about the stay was being in this chateau. Well appointed, charming home is even more lovely than the pictures.
10 minutes from town by car.
We had a very enjoyable few days at Arnaud's chateau and wish we could have stayed longer. Arnaud is very welcoming and warm and wants to make your stay as comfortable as possible. He assisted us in finding a chef for two at home meals which were delicious. Also, the location is fabulous, close enough to the autoroute for easy access and very close to Beaune for wine tasting, restaurants and shopping. We hope to return one day!

Beautiful property and surroundings
Our visit to Burgundy was wonderful. The property is beautiful and you can easily get to the many surrounding villages. The owner was very helpful in setting up wine tours and other activities. We had a beautiful catered dinner at the Chateau for a special occasion and it was a night to remember. One of the best meals we've ever had. We loved cooking at the house and spending time in the backyard. Our only suggestion would be that the house be more thoroughly looked over before a new group arrives. There were a few cleanliness issues. All and all our stay at the Chateau was wonderful and we would recommend it.
We had an amazing stay at this wonderful property. We stayed at the chateau for six weeks in the summer of 2022.
The property is located 10 minutes north of Beaune. The chateau is convenient to a major road, but far enough away that there is zero noise or traffic. The home is surrounded by fields and vineyards. There is a pleasant walk outside of the property on a dirt road to a canal and to the nearest village. The view from the property is beautiful. The vista is of Aloxe Corton and the grand cru vineyards up the hill.
The house is a charming three floor chateau with two bedrooms on the second floor and one on the third. The mattresses in all the bedrooms were new and very comfortable. The bathrooms are modern and have excellent water pressure and hot water on demand. The farm kitchen is well stocked and has an excellent gas stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher. Everything was in good working order.
Given the summer heat waves that seem to be the new normal, we were concerned about the temperature in the house. Each room has built in air conditioning which kept the place cool when needed. For the most part, the house stayed cool just with open windows. The countryside cools down at night and the humidity was low. And there is a very nice outdoor pool.
What made the chateau even more special was the host, Arnaud. He lives in a separate house on the property. He was charming and not intrusive. If there was even a small problem, he had it fixed immediately. He shared his knowledge of the area with us, recommending restaurants and shops. And he shared his wine. The perfect host. We will return!
My partner and I loved the Chateau. It is well situated and beautifully and comfortably appointed in all respects. Arnaud is a charming host and could not have been more helpful. If you are staying in Burgundy, and wish to do so in style, stay here!
I stayed here with my husband and parents for 9 days over the summer. The castle is in a very quiet area with a stunning view of the Cote, every evening we would enjoy watching the sun set over the Cote. Arnaud was an amazing host and was able to organise a fantastic tour guide, cleaner, different cooks, restaurant reccomendations, basically anything we wanted he was able to organise. I would highly recommend staying here!

Breathtaking Chateau, Great Location, Warm Host
I have to start with a WOW! The chateau is absolutely incredible. It’s even better than the photos. My family of 5 adults had an unforgettable experience here, making memories that will last a lifetime. The chateau is very spacious, beautifully decorated, air conditioned (where else will you find an air conditioned chateau in Burgundy?), and the grounds were impeccable. Our family of 5 adults got along very comfortably in the chateau. The property is in an excellent location, perfect for couples, families, or groups. We loved the property so much, but it’s Arnaud’s hospitality that sticks out to us more than anything. He was incredibly accommodating, helpful, gave us a myriad of tips and recommendations before and during our trip that made our stay a once in a lifetime experience. Most of what we did during our trip to Burgundy was based on Arnaud’s recommendations including hiring a chauffeur to take us on a day trip of wine country and a world class chef to make us a delicious private dinner at the chateau. I can’t reccomend this property enough. I am so looking forward to staying here again and highly recommend anyone considering a trip to Burgundy to put the Chateau des Barrigards at the top of your list!

Amazing chateau on a wonderful property
We had such a lovely stay at Arnaud's chateau. It was perfectly situated for us - just a short drive from Beaune and to the vineyards of Burgundy, but tucked away so we could enjoy quiet time in the countryside. Arnaud was very helpful and provided us suggestions for dinner and things to do in the area. The house itself was beautifully decorated and comfortable, and the property was perfect for dinners and lounging outside with our dog. We couldn't have had a better experience!

Wonderful French wine country retreat.
We spent 6 nights at the Chateau with our 2 kids and my in laws. Arnaud was extremely responsive and helpful with all of our planning. He made excellent recommendations, booked a wine tasting lunch, and arranged to have bike rentals delivered. The house is wonderfully decorated with french antiques, and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking. We had the personal chef make up a dish she dropped off and we heated for our first night and then experienced her skill again for a multi course birthday dinner later in our stay. We highly reccomend a chef experience during a stay. We biked around to all the local villages for wine tastings and lunches. Biking through the vineyards was a truely a fun way to spend the days. We highly recommend staying at Arnaud’s chateau to experience all the wonderful food, wine, and atmosphere of this amazing part of the world in comfort and french chateau style.

A wonderful chateau and an extraordinary experience!
We wish it was possible to give this property more than five stars--we would give it 10!
The chateau itself is lovely, filled with antiques yet with the coziness of a long-loved home. It's surrounded by lots of land and lovely views, including one of the famous Corton hill, one of the most sought-after appellations in Burgundy. We spent many an evening enjoying those views. The night sky is breathtaking.
The owner, Arnaud, was a superb host. He provided concierge-level service and was available 24/7 while we were there. He arranged restaurant reservations and wine tours, guiding us through the maze of being in a foreign country without once complaining if plans were changed at the last minute. He even provided us with a French chef, who prepared us several meals which were the equal of any restaurant in the area, and at very reasonable prices as well.
All in all, it was a memorable stay. We would highly recommend this chateau as a unique and wonderful retreat in Burgundy. We definitely plan to return.

Beautiful Chateau in Burgundy
“Lovely Chateau in Burgundy”
5 of 5 stars
We arrived in Burgundy by car, after flying into Paris overnight from the US. Naturally, we were pretty tired and ready for some comfort and care. We got that and more at Chateau des Barrigards. When we drove down the long driveway, we know we were in for a treat. A stone chateau stood before us, surrounded by gardens and its own winery. The owner, Arnaud, had arranged for the caretaker to meet us there and get us settled in the lovely, historic stone residence. He had also made a dinner reservation for the 4 of us, just down the road at a wonderful restaurant. Arnaud made sure that we had an excellent welcome to Burgundy. The house had everything one would need -- great bathrooms, comfy beds and a beautifully equipped kitchen. Even though we did eat and drink our way through the villages of Burgundy, we managed to cook a few meals in the Chateau and dine in the lovely surroundings at the chateau. The nearby town of Beaune is the MOST charming that we encountered in Burgundy. We loved it so much, it was hard to go to the other villages! This chateau is very centrally located on the major wine road through Burgundy. It is a great choice for relaxing, enjoying the countryside and exploring the wine villages of the area. Very charming place!

The listing was spot on.
The owner could not have been more helpful.
The whole chateau was furnished beautiful, if you like to cook the kitchen was awesome.
The location is perfect for visiting the area from Dijon to Beasicon.
We just took turns off the road and toured small villages and winery's.
Beaune farmers market must be visited.
All in all, a great holiday was had by all.

Perfection, charm, comfort and luxury!
Having never used VRBO before, we hit a homerun with Chateau Des Barrigards. This house is everything it is described to be and more. I, my husband, and our friends enjoyed a magical time in Beaune. The owner was completely invested in making sure everything went smoothly during our stay. Reviewing the booklet he sends before your stay is of invaluable help. Any need you may have, he lists a resource for you! We were able to hire a private chef, rent bicycles, and arrange wine tours prior to arrival, so no precious vacation time was wasted.
The house accommodations afford privacy, comfort, and convenience. The decor is quite beautiful, and the house was spotless when we arrived.
GO TO BEAUNE, AND IF YOU CAN; RENT THIS HOME! There's magic here.

Perfect location, gracious owner, and relaxing atm
It is totally surrounded by vineyard. Enjoyed morning walking/jogging around the vineyard. Tried seven Michelin star restaurants in 7 days; they are all within reasonable driving range (15 minutes to and 1 hour). The owner was extremely helpful in arranging tours and making restaurant reservations. Bed is very comfortable. All good... Strongly recommend.

Spacious, Quiet, Well-Equipped, Great Location
Château des Barrigards was perfect for our family vacation in Bourgogne. The rooms are all very spacious and comfortable, and the bathrooms and kitchen are well-equipped. We loved sitting behind the house in the evenings, watching the sun go down.
Mr. de Vienne was a gracious host. He sent us a booklet of recommendations and helped us with reservations beforehand, and then checked in via email during our visit to make sure everything was going well. He also left us some bottles of wine to enjoy during our visit and encouraged us to take what we needed from the vegetable garden.
The house is in a quiet location, surrounded by fields, but at the same time is a very short drive to grocery shops, restaurants, and the historical center for Beaune. We would definitely stay here again!

The only way to experience the beauty of Beaune
We are accustomed to fine lodgings in hotels but staying at a
private Chateau with furnishings from the 17th century was such an
incredible experience. The photos and descriptions were accurate except
the expanse of land surrounding the property was beyond expectation.
The perfect place to reflect and enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of the Beaune area. The owner of the property was beyond helpful. Since we do not speak French, he made restaurant reservations and assisted with local activities.
His recommendations for restaurants and vineyard wine tastings were fantastic. We couldn't have had such a wonderful experience on our own. He acted as our private concierge. I would recommend this property to anyone who enjoys and appreciates upscale travel and experiences.

Amazing stay at Chateau des Barrigards
The pictures do not lie. There are some beautiful antiques, silk draperies, top of the line appliances, large en suite bathrooms with tub and separate shower. There are two bedrooms on the 2nd floor and one on the 3rd. Each one is very private. We stayed on the 3rd floor. The decorating was perfect, oh that blue and white bathroom, gorgeous, and the view from our windows! Vineyards as far as the eye can see. Great to sit outside at the table for any meal, with wonderful conversation among good friends.
Wifi is excellent.
Easy to get into Beaune, also a short trip to what became one of the group's (3 couples) favorites, Nuit St George. Great lunch, al fresco, then a wine tasting in a local cellar. Returned another day to the same bistro for lunch again.
Arnaud was always available by phone or email, (as was Pascal, the caretaker). He gave us a tour of the winery and we did enjoy the wine. How fabulous to drink the wine where it is produced. We have great memories.
We've already recommended it to a friend.

A beautiful French experience!
We stayed at this beautiful chateau in late October. While the weather was cool and rainy, we enjoyed the warmth and beauty of the chateau. The home is beautifully decorated with family treasures. The large kitchen easily served us. The washer/dryer in the basement was a plus as we had been on the road for a week. The bedrooms and baths have been updated. The owner was onsite to provide any assistance during our stay. He secured wine tastings and Bistrot reservations at unique sites. We enjoyed the tomatoes and roses from the garden. One evening we enjoyed a meal prepared by a private chef who came to the chateau and served a perfect dinner. The location of the chateau was perfect for our needs. We took a cooking class in Beaune (the Cook's Atelier), drove to south to Chateau La Rochepot and north to Chateau du Clos de Vougeot. Beaune is an enchanting town and we enjoyed exploring it but we're very glad to be at the chateau in the peace and quiet of the French countryside. We highly recommend this chateau and charming owner. We will return to enjoy it again. The Walkers and Baloghs October 2014
