Great Family Fun

We had such a great time at the Lyon's Den. Everything was just as described on VRBO but even better. The house was perfect for the 7 of us. The game room downstairs was a real hit with the grandkids. We have been to a lot of VRBO's and I have to say this was one of the best. We went river rafting and came back to soak in the hot tub out on the lower deck. Beautiful setting. We would love to return in the near future.

Fun and peaceful time

Love the game room! The house is in a peaceful neighborhood and yet is it only 5- 10 minutes away from exciting things to do. Stores, hiking, working out, golf, Donner Lake etc.. . The service for the house was superb. We had an issue come up, Chris and his staff's response was prompt and to the point, offering solutions to make our stay exceptional. We hope to stay there again next summer.

Perfect ski chalet - great location

The perfect home base for skiing around Lake Tahoe - lots of bedrooms; big windows to see the forest; fun arcade games and plenty of privacy. The hot tub is well positioned under the deck to keep the weather off of you and provide privacy. Two-car garage was really helpful for keeping the snow off the car. (It was a tight squeeze getting a Chevy Tahoe inside the garage but we did it.) The kitchen had all the utensils we needed - but didn't have coffee filters. One of our concerns before arriving was how good the roads would be, especially in the Tahoe Donner neighborhood. They did a great job plowing - we only ever had a half-inch of snow on the packed snow so our rental AWS SUV did fine. (Some shoveling was required to get out of the driveway since the plow pushed snow and made a berm at the edge of the driveway where it meets the road.) We didn't use any of the amenities at Tahoe Donner resort since we had everything we needed at the house. It would have been fun to try their ski hill but at $100/lift ticket for only two lifts, it wasn't worth it. If you are flying into Reno, drive 30 min to Mt Rose and show your boarding pass to get a $70 lift ticket (half-price).

Family of 4 and dog enjoyed this rental! Quiet neighborhood, had all the amenities we needed, the game room was fun, the beds were cozy... the entire place felt very clean and comfortable. Would stay here again!

Gorgeous Place!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Lyndon’s Den. It’s was beautiful and well maintained place. The place was real clean and it welcomed us with the little touches with the decorative touches with the towels on the bed. The view of the trees from the living room was breathing taking. My family and I would stay here again.

Great Family Getaway

We loved our stay, the house is just as described in the listing. This home is better suited for older children when traveling with family, our three older kids loved it but it wasn’t the best option for our 1 year old, the stairs do not fit a standard baby gate and the deck has very wide gaps in railings that weren’t safe for the baby but other then that it’s a great place!

This house was beautiful! We were pleasantly surprised to find the hot tub heated and ready for us upon arrival. Check in was easy. The house has plenty of space for a family to spread out and enjoy the many amenities offered. We had a few questions for the property manager and received a response promptly. Communicating was easy and professional. We will definitely book this property again.

Great Stay at the Lyon’s Den

You always get a little nervous when booking a rental property, however the Lyon’s Den met all expectations. It was perfect for our group and it was great to be able to bring our pup. The location in Donner allowed us access to the lake and the Rec center. The property was clean with new floors and a new comfy couch. There are also TVs in every room when you need some ‘alone’ time. The adults and kids alike enjoyed the retro arcade games and the shuffleboard table. The property management group was extremely responsive and easy to work with. Don’t hesitate - book this property.

Nice house unfortunate circumstances

We always get excited about coming up to the Truckee/Donner area. Donner Lake is amazing and my family enjoys the fresh mountain air. First off this review is more about the overarching experience, the house itself was fine, it’s a bit dated and had some cleanliness opportunities in the bathrooms. I would recommend the management company take care of the mold and mildew that is gathering on the ceilings and replace the shower curtains. Our experience was deflating due to the poor air quality coming from the close proximity of the mosquito fire. I reached out to the property management company a few weeks before our reservation and was told nothing could be done. I was looking for a refund just a change in dates since it was a celebration for my wife’s birthday. The inflexibility and poor customer service is unacceptable so we braved the 400+ aqi even though our son was high risk. He did not get to do anything outside and we ended up leaving before our reservation ended. I understand the purpose of making rent money from this house but as humans maybe think about the experience and safety of others and less about greed.

There were a few things that might be helpful for future renters. The drive way not shoveled of ice therefore both our vehicles slid down the driveway during the evening hours. There was only 2 cups left of de-icer so we had to buy a 50 lbs bag. There was a broken can opener. The 3 lighters were out of fuel for the fire. Otherwise we were very comfortable! The reason we chose this cabin was for the spa, it was wonderful!

We had a wonderful time staying at this property. It fit the 8 of us perfectly and allowed us to relax at the home. I do wish we were told ahead of time the Donnor Lake passes required a reservation. Still a great vacation rental!!
