Family get together
We were a family of 3 generations staying for four nights, we made use of the games room and outdoor games in the field. The sauna and hot tub were used every day as well as the private pool. We had time slots for the main pool which we enjoyed as a family on a hot afternoon. Plenty of space , farm shop next door and pubs in walking distance. Everyone enjoyed the week

Family Heaven!
This was a fantastic property. With a private swimming pool plus a daily 3 hour slot for private use of a larger pool, together with a Pool table and table soccer, the grandchildren were extremely happy to chill out too! Gillian and her team were happy to configure the beds to accommodate four children in one room. We would thoroughly recommend this property!

Absolutely amazing!
I spent a weekend here with 10 friends celebrating my 50th birthday. The house was perfect, plenty of room and seating for us all. Nothing was too much trouble for Gill, if we had any requirements, she was there sorting it out in minutes. Especially handy as we needed a new bottle opener 😁 The layout and decor is exceptional, the games room was great fun! The private pool was bigger than we expected and the shared pool was perfect. Our time slot coincided with the sun being out, just perfect! The sauna and hot tub also had a lot of use, very relaxing and a great way to catch up with friends. I would 100% stay here again, loved every minute. We also hired Amanda (beautician) for the day, she was wonderful, a great start to the weekend. I’d also recommend County Plate catering, we used them for dinner Saturday night, the food and service was impeccable, absolutely loved it! You will not be disappointed on a break here.

Large property but not suitable for groups
The area is beautiful the facilities excellent but unfortunately the “Rules” are excessive. There is a 10pm curfew meaning everyone has to be in property windows and doors closed even those staying in the annex. We were there as a Hen group so can’t lie there was giggling and merriment for which we were severely reprimanded but for those looking to book please be really aware of what the restrictions will mean and the extent to which the rules are policed. No sitting out chatting on a balmy summer’s evening and no windows open at night not even whilst sleeping in the hot attic room. Check out the Google reviews as they give balanced feedback on a number of stays. I can thoroughly recommend the local farm shop though burgers and sausages excellent even though we had to enjoy them at home 😣.

Samantha I am glad you loved the area and the house. We have large groups week in / week out who are celebrating anything from special anniversaries to hen events and almost without exception they understand why we have a noise management rule and respect us, our neighbours and other guests and therefore have a fantastic time. Unfortunately you were the very occasional disrespectful group. We only have one rule which is that we ask guests to go inside at 10pm so they don't disturb neighbours, if loud music or shrieking and shouting is happening inside we also ask that the windows in the rooms in which this is happening are kept closed so as not to disturb others. We informed you of these rules on booking and you were happy to accept them. We did not police them strictly but came to the house at 11pm to politely ask you to go inside, which you initially refused to do. Eventually we did get you all inside despite some of the party being very drunk. Then at 2am we again found around half your party outside drunkenly partying and again asked you to go inside, these guests were very rude and made as much noise as possible as we got them back in the house. We called VRBO, they called you and you left the next day at ours and their request. As we told you this very rarely happens as 99% of our guests are lovely and considerate and wouldnt dream of behaving as your group did.

Staycation at Langport
We had a great time with the family and children, house was full equipped &. Very clean. The pool was actually warm and the Jacuzzi was lovely and hot. There was a lot of space and greenery for the children to play. George was friendly and done a good job. The images of the property looked exactly the same in person which is always a plus as these days all pictures are highly edited. We would definitely revisit this beautiful property again.

Amazing place
Lovely place, great for kids if not wanting to spend any money going out and you have the pool, hot tub and sauna. Only downside, could have done with another TV, so adults and kids could watch their own things at night. If that’s the only downside, had to be 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ oh and put the person who doesn’t mind going bed late on the top floor, as there is no door, so you can hear the TV! Thanks for a great week 😊

Family time
All communications were spot on with Gill before our stay & whilst staying we were welcomed by George who was spot on with information & was there if we had any problems or questions (which we had no probs with nothing working or anything like that). The house is lovely & waa just right for us all with the Spring Barn too. The allocated times of shared pool is a brilliant idea . Our own pool was lovely as was hot tub & sauna. Everything was very clean, house, barn & pools etc. Plenty of crockery etc for us all, we hired the gas barbecue & as the weather was so lovely had a barbecue on 3 of the 5 nights there. The games room was used daily & in the evenings, the field outside for ball games was a must . The only thing I would say was'nt so good was the amount of flies, at first we thought well we are in the countryside but by the end of our 5 nights even the children had , had enough of them. I know when your having bi fold doors open all day it's inevitable they come in but the amount of them became a nuisance & the electric fly zapper in kitchen didn't seem enough too cope with them. The buddlia in the garden attracted so many different butterflies & when sat in garden they were even landing on some of us. As there was so many of us a washing line would have been an idea for pool towels etc drying. Overall we had a fantastic time & have passed on details for others staying after they've seen our pictures

We had a great time staying at Bourne Lodge, It was that good we are returning next year. Gill was really helpful with suggestions and advice about the area. We did some local days out and walks but there is still loads for us to do next year. The cottage was perfect for our party and having our own pool, hot tub and sauna was lovely

Ideal Holiday Home for Big Groups, in delightful and welcoming Somerset Countryside
Upton Bourn Lodge is exactly as described and does not disappoint. My family & friends (8 adults & 5 children) had a wonderful time (perfect weather also helped) sharing the main pool (which worked well), spontaneously using the new plunge pool, the hot tub and the field allocated to the house. We ran a table tennis tournament, a table football tournament and everyone enjoyed the pool table. We brought our own badminton net & kit (there's loads of space to set up). We made great use of the local farm shop (brilliant produce), bought delicious cider from Harry's and had a last evening meal to die for at the Devonshire Arms in the village. There was nothing George, the owners' son, didn't do to make our stay run smoothly. He took all our requests and comments on board with a great attitude and charming demeanour. He is a natural, which is more than I can say for his mother, one of the owners. Sadly, having created this little bit of heaven I think she has now been doing this job for too long. The only other negative for my family group was that the Spring Barn is not currently at the same level as the main buildings. It was noisy and stuffy and I wouldn't recommend it until they have done some work, which I believe is planned shortly.

Lovely break away from lockdown
We had a lovely stay and enjoyed all that was on offer. Beautiful spacious property, Hot Tub, Heated pool, Sauna and the various sports activities made it a break for everyone. As we booked back in May, Gill Kindly gave us a small discount as a token of her thanks to 5 of the NHS medical workers who were in our group which was a really special gesture. The small downside was that as there was no tumble dryer, something like a washing line would've helped rather than 2 drying rails (not enough for 14 people staying for 7 days) Gill and her team have a lovely place there and if you're thinking of booking it, DO IT!! you won't regret it

Hi Dina...glad you enjoyed your stay. There is a tumble dryer in the pool room...just hard to use at the moment with the Coronavirus situation not allowing shared facilities. We will put up a line...great idea.

Perfect for Xmas gathering.
The property fulfilled all of our expectations in fulfilling the requirements of four generations over Christmas. There is plenty of space for veryone to be together (12 adults and 3 children in our case, but room for more). The kitchen is very well equipped and the 2 dishwashers and 3 ovens were very useful. The welcome packs were generous and much appreciated. The dining table accommodated us all easily and there was a good selection of seating in the lounge. The bedrooms are of a good size and furnished with good quality bedding. The games area was a nice distraction and the hot tub a delight. In warmer months I can imagine the open bi-folding doors to the garden would be lovely, as would the pool and adjacent field. We had also taken the annexes including the cider barn. Again, well equipped and furnished although the cider barn is not recommended for elderly / infirm owing to the almost horizontal staircase. Although we didn't really have time for exploring I do know the area which is very pretty. Adjacent Langport is only 5 minutes away and is also pretty and has a Tescos which is bigger and more well stocked than implied. Communication with Gill, the owner, was excellent during the booking process and she met us on arrival and departure. She was also on hand for any issues should there have been any. All in all, the property fulfilled our expectations and ideal for large families/ groups.

The property was more than we expected. We were a large family party with adults and children, all of whom enjoyed the house, garden, hot tub and swimming pool. The only thing I would say is that there was no mention that the pool was shared between 4 properties and we did believe we had sole access to it, but in the end we were lucky and did have the pool to ourselves whenever we used it so it worked out ok.
