The city
Located not far from Pointe-à-Pitre, on the south coast of the island of Grande-Terre, the town of Le Gosier, which takes its name from a species of pelican called the big gullet, is one of the main destinations of the Guadeloupe archipelago. This seaside resort has a very lively atmosphere where leisure is not lacking. Sandy beaches, nautical activities, shops, restaurants, bars, casino or even nightclubs have something to delight holidaymakers looking for fun and fun!
The pleasant seawater pool, located at Tabarin Cove, is popular for swimming, but also for learning to sail and kayak. The beautiful clear sandy beaches, for their part, will not fail to seduce lovers of idleness. Lit up until 11 p.m., the Datcha beach in particular is ideal for jogging, water sports or a night swim. Further east, towards Sainte-Anne, the charming and peaceful Petit-Havre beach is a haven of peace suitable for swimming and a picnic or rest break in the shade of the trees.
From the dike, near the Datcha beach, it is possible, thanks to the shuttles offered throughout the day, to take a little tour on the islet of Gosier located off the resort. Popular with boaters, this protected site is ideal for a relaxing break or a mask and snorkel dive.
Every Friday evening, from 5 p.m., the night market, which is held along the two main streets of the city, offers a large number of stalls of exotic fruits and vegetables and crafts, all in a good mood and conviviality. !
