"Just came back from our bank holiday weekend break with our two dogs, beautiful place. lots of places say they are dog friendly and arenâ€™t but this one definitely is. Enclosed garden, nice walks in the area and places to eat (loved the extra touch of a binder with local places near by to choose our walks) it is very spacious for a one bedroom, and the bed was out of this world comfortable! We would definitely stay again ðŸ«¶ðŸ»"

"Fantastic welcome at reception from Ruth and Tegan and the lady when I arrived on the Tuesday but I didn’t get her name! Super friendly place to stay and the room was very good value. Highly recommended."

"everything was fine although the interior is a little dated. however the stay was completely let down because the actual mattress was SO uncomfortable I could barely sleep. think "wire sticking into your back" no matter where you try and position yourself on it. get those replaced and you've got a lovely hotel with very nice staff."

"I really enjoyed my stay at this pub with rooms. As a solo female traveller I appreciated the discreteness of staff when checking me in. Room was lovely and comfortable, bathroom great with good powerful shower. WiFi connection good enough to do online meetings. I ate in the pub one night and meal was great, Plenty of options for gluten free. Not far off the M1, I definitely stay there again if working in the area"

"Had to change rooms as upon closing door , the lock and frame fell off. A shoddy repair had taken place prior to our stay with 2 screws attempting to hold in place. From a room security perspective it was very poor. Room was changed but very uncomfortable bed. 3/4 bed which was not suitable for 2 adult's. No air con. Not the best"

"Our room was in the annexe. This was noisy as there was a group of teenagers running around during the evening on the floor above. The bedroom was comfortable but dark and the bathroom was very shabby. There was mould in the shower and on the windows. The general decor was drab and outside the bedroom window was untidy with an acrow prop in view. On the positive side, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The cooked to order breakfast was very good. Unfortunately the standard of the room and bathroom made it a generally disappointing stay and it would be great if Greene King could invest a lot more money into this lovely, historic building."
