Beautiful hotel, well maintained , but the SERVICE needs significant improvement.
I specifically booked this hotel because I wanted a room with a mountain view. When I arrived, however, the only view from my room was a tree. I went to the front desk and explained that I had specifically booked a mountain view, but instead of addressing the issue, I was told “YES, YOU HAVE MOUNTAN BEHIND THE TREE”. I was also told that nothing could be done unless I paid extra to move to another room.
I had to ask to speak with a manager. The front-desk employee went to speak with her supervisor, and eventually I was moved to another side of the hotel. The new view was worse, but at least I was looking at nature rather than a tree.
Unfortunately, the experience at the restaurant was also disappointing. I ordered salmon from the menu, where one portion was listed at €28 for 250 g, while the smaller portion was €22. I wanted to order one large and one small portion. The waitress told me that she would order two €22 portions instead because the kitchen “wouldn’t understand” the order and it would be confusing for her as well. She then said that if I wanted more, she could order a third portion. And she also mentioned that there is not a big difference beetween fish for 28€ and 22€. I also specifically asked her: “So if I ordered the €28 salmon, would you bring me essentially the same fish as the €22 portion and simply charge me more?” She nodded and confirmed that this was the case.
The food options were so clean and amazing. I felt refreshed with every meal. The spa was huge! The amenities were fantastic. There were so many places to spend time alone, relaxing. The views were breathtaking and the balconies, relaxing. However, the bed and couch are equally rock hard and the pillows almost seem homemade with cotton balls. They’re non-existent. Even the room towels provided are small and thin. We paid extra for the large room and Mountain View not knowing that this also came sans any air movement so we had to keep windows open. But the rooms with this view are above the parking lot and the kitchen with constant noise coming and going, car alarms, and early morning delivery trucks that come every day. I would give this place 10/10 and make a point to return for a longer stay except I didn’t sleep the entire stay. I tried. I was exhausted from hiking. But it was too uncomfortable. I just couldn’t. And that made me very sad because everything else was magic.
Schönstes Hotelzimmer so far.
