This is a charming property and could not be better placed in terms of access to the castle and cathedral. The check-in lady was so kind and helpful so one could not ask for more there. The only criticism I have was that there is no soap or shampoo provided in the bathroom. This makes rather a dull shower unless prewarned. Had I known and brought my own, I would have enjoyed my stay more. Likewise, there was no black tea bags. The house is incredibly charming and the price most favourable. I just wished they had made one or two touches more as stated. Also, I could not get any of the tv's to work but luckily I had a good book and enjoyed the views from the windows

This is an amazing property. Very old and creaky. Uneven walls floorboards well everything. Toilet and sink, and shower and sink. We were very wary of the limited facilities but 4 of us stayed there and there was no cause for complaint. Difficult to keep clean due to the age of everything but not dirty. Sitting room was comfortable and easy. Kitchen had enough pots and pans to get by. Lincoln is a very lively place and there was a lot of noise outside at night especially on Saturday night. This can’t be avoided and is the price you pay for being in the centre. We had an extremely good time, would highly recommend the property and would defiantly come again. It would not be suitable for small children due to steep stairs etc but anybody else would be fine.

Not bad for one night sleep

I have a difficult check in as there was no reception in that building. However, I found the where I can check in with help from some locals who were very kind. The receptionist was very kind and helpful. The room was ok, bathroom, as well as the kitchen, were shard. No teabag, shuger, coffee available as the kitchen was empty.the was a problem with the electricity as when all the light on it turn off.

Bad experience/ slechte ervaring

Bij aankomst bleek het hotel niet te bestaan. Zelfs bij plaatselijk VVV-kantoor kende men Pemberton niet. Toevallig wist een tearoom in de nabijheid van het bestaan van Pembertonhotel af. Daar ter plaatse was nergens te zien dat het een hotel was. Ook de naam Pemberton ontbrak. Deuren dicht. Toevallig wist iemand dat de sleutels een straat verderop gehaald moesten worden. Anders hadden we niet geweten wat te moeten doen. Stond ook niets van vermeld op de site. Wél van tevoren met Visa betaald (400 euro). Men vertelde vervolgens dat ik nog moest betalen en dat de 400 euro niet afgeschreven was. Dat moet ik dan nog maar afwachten als de Visa-afrekening komt! Voorts betrof het een pand uit 1543. Dat stond niet op site vermeld. Op site stond wel foto van het pand maar dat bleek er een van 60 jaar oud te zijn! Kamers zonder douche of toilet. Slechts één douche en toilet in pand en daarvoor moest je midden in de nacht een trap op. Vaak bezet natuurlijk. Wél mooie locatie, pal tussen kathedraal en kasteel en Steep Hill gelegen.

Upgrade to Bail Hotel and Mews

I stayed at the Bail Hotel and Mews as an upgrade being a single traveller. The Pemberton hotel is more suited for a group of travellers. The area is fantastic, with the. Cathedral and Castle less than 4 mins away across the main square.

Location is key.

Accomodation was fine - great location, but fairly basic. Remember to bring your own towels and make sure you check in before going to the property. Didnt spend a lot of time in the room nor the additional facilities available looked clean enough. Great view from the windows.
