「Black Diamond Retreat was a wonderful place for a family gathering. Both indoor and outdoor areas were spacious and gave everyone room to spread out and wander. We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit every evening and playing corn hole and bocci outside as well. 「I grew up in Shamokin so I understand most of the homes are historically old and many are row houses. The host does a wonderful job of making the home feel welcoming. Loved the decor and fun layout. The bathroom is large and clean with great water pressure; that's always a bonus. ;)」

「This place is amazing!!! We rented this home for a weekend to celebrate my husband’s 40th. The home has everything you can imagine! 「Me and my friends just spent our New Year's here for two nights. The man cave lives up to its name-- we spent a good deal of the weekend playing pool, darts, and card games, used the grill, and were just a few blocks off from some great food and liquor stores. I'd imagine any sort of group would enjoy coming here, though, given other advantages like access to trails and monuments in historic PA. Everything worked just as we wanted it to, and Mary's filled out the space to create a great place...

「Over all house was beautiful had everything we needed while being there. Only 25 min from famous reading outdoors has plenty of great parking for trailers will stay there again. Cons house has speakers but wasn’t working lucky we had our own radio also the heating system needs to be looked at. Thermostat being near kitchen down stairs was cold while upstairs was a sauna we end up leaving a day earlier was to hot upstairs to sleep.」
