「The Anchor was a convenient stay for us as we needed to be close to the ferry to take us to Isla. The staff were very pleasant and check-in was easy. Parking was across the street and convenient as well. The rooms are very small and dated but clean and comfortable. There is a pub next door and many people were enjoying the World Cup so it got pretty noisy but we were able to sleep. We had a fabulous dinner in the Anchor's restaurant. 「Was ok. Peaceful location but huge gravel car park directly in front of ground floor rooms was noisy in morning and evening. Stale smell inside the hotel in general. Staff were overly “formal / professional” - felt almost awkward at times and didnt feel friendly. Hot breakfast for £25 not good value, continental breakfast at £17 also not good value (yoghurt, granola, canned fruit and watermelon). Good bedding, comfortable beds, but at this price I would not return.」
