"The staff member who checked us in started our stay off brilliantly. So friendly and helpful which was so pleasant. Offered help and advice on travelling into Zurich, which was about 35mins by bus. We picked this hotel as we could park our hire car for free, securely underground too which was a massive benefit for the price. We was offered breakfast for a great rate and that had loads of options with pastries, cereals, coffee and normal European choices of meats and cheese with fresh bread. Our room although slightly dated was extremely clean and comfortable. A good size, with fresh linen as you’d expect and a very comfortable bed. Personally, how clean and comfortable a room is, is far more important to me and my partner than how modern a room may look. Hotel feels in a safe location. Highly recommend this stay!"

"The room had a great view over the river. The room was very clean and fresh and the bed was comfortable. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, however there was a pay as you go dispenser, serving cold drinks in the corridor. The bar area is "

"I would like to share my experience to help future travelers. The property is listed as a “homestay,” but in reality it operates more like a hostel. The entire apartment — including the bathroom, kitchen, and common areas — is shared, which was not clearly mentioned in the listing. This lack of transparency made the experience quite unexpected for us. We had informed the host in advance that we were a family of four, yet we were assigned a cramped attic space with very limited room. There was hardly any space to keep our luggage, and it was not comfortable for sleeping. Additionally, the kitchen was not well equipped. There were not enough utensils, and several items were either not working or missing altogether (for example, no proper coffee pods or basic essentials). The towels provided were also of very poor quality. Overall, the listing does not accurately reflect the actual setup or level of comfort. I would strongly recommend future guests to clarify all details beforehand to avoid disappointment. "

"Perfect for our overnight stay before flying out of Zurich. We loved exploring the older part of this town. Both the charm and train station are steps from this hotel. Highly recommend. "

"Hotel Walhalla was such a beautiful and clean hotel. The staff were so nice and accommodating. I stayed one night and found the room to be very spacious, clean, and updated. The location is very convenient as it is right across from the tram stops and the train station making it very easy for travelers like myself. It’s also super close to some main attractions like the Abbey Library which was only a 9 minute walk. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and was complimentary with the stay. Would definitely stay here if you are looking for a very nice and safe hotel in St. Gallen."

"Great that they have self check in as we arrived at 1am. Building is undergoing some work at the moment but wasnt disruptive. Great location. Good size room, clean, quiet, beds were comfy but need better pillows. "
