The location is super, the bed comfortable and having a space to park was really good. But the condition of the flat is downhill from there. The place is in great need of some TLC. Luckily we did not have to cook meals as there were barely any kitchen utensils. Crockery situation not much better. No place to really hang jackets. A tiny hook with only one screw by the door was no help and left a bad feeling. The whole flat could use a coat of paint. The bath needs a non slip mat. The chairs are not comfortable and the minuscule dining table was inadequate. Unfortunate really because it was kind of depressing and it could be so much more pleasant a place to stay.

Great Simplr Beachfront Apartment

Straightforward, easy property right near beach. Not a lot of bells and whistles, but for the price it is a good deal, right next to the beach, chill area and plenty of space.

Great location

Great location, just steps from the beach and very short walk to restaurants, bars and fun! Quiet and friendly neighborhood. My husband and I stayed 8 days and had a great time exploring LA. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!

Totally Misleading

The VRBO listing is misleading. Right from the beginning the apartment felt staged. There were no blinds, area rug or lamps in living area as in photo. Yes, it was close to beach but there were no beach towels or chairs available. And you call that a patio!? It was an outdoor dining set sitting on the street in the parking lot. There was a sad broken grill with no propane tank. It offered a kitchen yet no mixing bowl, pot holders, wine glasses, etc. We were there for 5 nights but given 1 bath towel each and 1 hand towel to share. I have been renting vacation homes for years and have never seen such a cheap mismatched set of kitchen essentials. Very disappointed!

Great Get Away Place

I was in LA on business and had to stay by LAX for two days. I took one day for myself and went over to the beach before I flew the morning of the fourth day. The apartment is perfect for one or two people. I wouldn't have any more than two stay there. I would stay there again.

Great Location

Perfect location, it's remote yet close to good restaurants. It was a cute place, but bare minimum given. Only 2 towels and no extra sheets or blankets. But for the cost that's minor. The only issue is no AC. There are fans but in the warm summer it needs a little more. To stay cool we had to keep windows open which i did not care for being a single female. Id stay there again because overall it was a nice location.

Location is great, could use some amenities

This place is (as advertised) steps from the beach and comes with a dedicated parking space, which makes it fantastic for a beach stay. It's also walking distance to Abbot Kinney and all sorts of fun along the Venice Beach boardwalk. The owner was responsive when I reached out for check in and once when the wireless went out. There were a ton of TV options with the Roku, and the stay was pretty quiet (no big parties keeping us up) over the May weekend we visited. Getting in and out of the apartment was smooth and easy. The new kitchen appliances were great. The apartment surfaces and the linens were clean and fresh. However, the place, despite looking good, has been cheaply upgraded (which is fine - it's a rental), and that means the floor in the kitchen is broken and cracking (no hazard to us; just uneven flooring settling), and several drawers were broken. The floors had a layer of sand all over them (which probably would be aided by a mat in the entryway, even inside), and the dishes (in the cabinets) were dirty. We were surprised that there was only one towel per person for our 4-night stay, 1 dish towel and 1 hand towel - and no pot holders. There was nothing for the beach -- no chairs, no blankets, no beach towels. (The ad doesn't say it provides any of these things, and we brought our own - but if we were traveling by plane, these would be added expenses for sure.) And there were no cleaning supplies (spray cleaner, for example).

Sandy Inside and a Very Basic Accommodation

Left a day early because unit wasn't clean. (There was still sand on floor and in bed when I arrived, plus sofa stains!) Balcony is not usable/rotting wood. VERY bare bones... not enough linens or a bath mat for my 5 night stay. :( Furniture cheap and chipped floors. Disappointing. Steps from the beach & parking included, which were definite bright spots.

Simple amenities but Perfect location for all things

My college roomate and I did a short trip together and was super impressed with the check in process - super easy. The place was clean and bed comfortable. The best part is the location! Literally the best location for heading to spend days on the beach, or walking to the nearby pier for sunsets, or the nearby pier bike rentals, or any restaraunt you'd like! All walking distance. We loved not needing a car and really short Lyft ride from the airport. Excellent place for 2 people to enjoy Venice Beach (and only a 17 minute bike ride from Santa Monical Pier which is cool too!)

Amazing spot

Just a few steps from the beach and Venice boardwalk! We loved our stay and definitely will come back. Area is young and fun and lots of restaurants and shops within a few steps. Buses are close too. Just missing a few items in the kitchen.

Great Location

We could hear the waves crashing on the beach from our windows! A great space if your primary goal is to be as close to the beach as possible without the high cost of beachfront accommodations. The space was clean but a little more worn than the pictures might indicate. There was great eating and walking in the neighborhood as well!

Great location but felt 'cheap' for the Price

Great location -- you can literally see the beach looking out the window. The neighborhood feels very safe. The apartment is within walking distance of the grunge/fun of Venice but somehow has a different vibe. I would say the apartment is relatively quiet given the location. For being "newly remodeled" the place is a bit cheap. The couch is saggy and uncomfortable, and the floor is chipped. I tried to hang a bag on a hook in the wall and it fell down with crumbling drywall. I had a few issues (1) My parking spot was taken when I arrived -- there aren't really any signs up for deterrence. It was 4th of July weekend, so the beach was bumping and there was absolutely no place to park. This resolved the next morning, but the spot was occupied on ANOTHER occasion during my stay (2) Wifi was spotty and went out on multiple occasions. The router is in a different unit, so it makes it impossible to 'self serve' and restart (3) Communication with the owner was OK, but there was no follow-up to see if there was a resolution after reporting parking/wifi issues. I also had to go through several mediums to get my check-in instructions -- messaged on VRBO, texted, and called.
