Really nice hotel with fantastic views. It’s a bit dated but that did not stop our enjoyment. The tiny balcony could just fit three people on. We had a triple room with a bathroom and it was nice. It’s about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the centre of the town and there is a little bit of a hill towards the end but again no big issue and I don’t think even someone with mobility problems would have any issues here. The one thing that we had a bit of a smile about was we were one hour before the check-in time and they asked if we wanted to pay for an early check in for 30CHF which seemed a bit much. We declined.

The service was amazing and everyone was so friendly, especially Arrot (please forgive the spelling who worked the front desk when we checked in. The view was amazing. We enjoyed sitting on the lower balcony for a drink and in the mornings we drank coffee on our balcony from our room. The breakfast buffet had lots to offer as well and was a great option when in a hurry.

This is a lovely hotel with great views of the lake. It may be difficult to find and walking to it with suitcases would be hard. We stayed in the triple room. It is a small space but worked fine for us. It tales just a few minutes to reach the main train station.

Great views from our room in the corner of the historic building. The rooms were fine, public area pleasant. But nobody much stayed around as no dinner was available. Long hilly walk to town centre, so we drove. Nothing much in the vicinity of the hotel. Parking was expensive

We were blessed with a room that had a balcony and a window. We had a spectacular view of the mountains and the lake. We had dinner at the hotel the first night and Rarish our waiter was excellent. The only thing missing is it had no breakfast included. This is why I gave it a 4 stars.

Views from the rooms were amazing. Friendly and helpful staff, unfortunately let down by the actual room, old style shower in a bath, very dangerous to step in and out, no power point in the bath room and we had a broken fridge for 3 days of our stay

Amazing view of the lake from my room. Hotel was very clean and charming. Arad was very helpful. He provided a lot of valuable information. For example, when you pay for the city taxes, you can also ride the city bus for free. He was very hospitable. The city is clean and absolutely beautiful We had a wonderful stay!

Amazing stay, great value for money and possible the best view of Luzern! Just to note that there is a slope up to the hotel so for those with big luggages, Uber from the train station is about CHF11, so all good given that the hotel offers so much more than that! Highly recommend.

The hotel was a short walk from the train station and only 10-15 min to St. Leo Church, Old Town, Chapel Bridge. Very convenient. With the Expedia reservation, we were given a street view room so for 30 CHF we upgraded our room to lake view which was nice. We were not happy with the room itself. Small. No furniture except for a little chair in front of a built in desk. Little tiny shelves on both sides of bed are used as night stands. Bathroom ridiculously small with one small shelf behind the toilet. No soap dish or places to hang your wash cloth or towel. I had to put my shampoo and other bath items on the floor outside of the small shower stall. Unless other rooms do not have these issues, We would not recommend this property. Note too that four other Expedia properties in Switzerland gave us a lake view not charging us an up charge as Hotel Royal Luzern did to us.
