The down sides are both the fact that in order to go to Ella you must take a tuktuk. "A beautiful new boutique hotel featuring sustainable rock-stone architecture designed by award-winning architect Palinda Kannangara. The property has a modern, minimalist, and zen-like aesthetic, with grey-toned interiors that evoke the signature style of Tadao Ando. Our room was located at the highest point of the property, offering stunning panoramic views of the Ella Gap. The trade-off, however, is the considerable number of steps required to reach the room from the lobby, which may be challenging for some guests. Upon check-in, we encountered some issues with the Wi-Fi in our assigned room, but the hotel staff responded promptly and offered us an alternative room, which we appreciated. The hotel also features a lovely outdoor saltwater pool and is conveniently located within easy reach of the town centre. Breakfast was included and showcased traditional Sri Lankan flavours — which was served near the pool. Overall, a stylish and tranquil retreat with spectacular views, thoughtful service, and a distinctive architectural character."
