"The location is great! Right in the middle of the best places to eat in the Marina District. You could walk to the Wharf but we took and Uber. Loved the free parking and beautiful, safe location."

"so during our one night stay here, someone tried to literally bust down our door two separate times. not an exaggeration they were banging and shoving and like almost trying to remove the door from the hinges which happened for at least a couple minutes at like 10pm so negative points for safety then it happened again in the morning. also minus points because there was not a single outlet in that room or bathroom that wasn’t loose so we had basically dead phones while this was going on. i did not sign up for Five Nights at Surf Motel but that’s basically what you will get. + ac works great "

"Hotel is perfect. Place is perfect. We can easily reached the wharf, pier 39 and musee mecanique easily walking. Staff is really helpful and breakfast is perfect."

"The room was very efficient. It was clean with a working fridge and microwave. The a/c worked great. The front desk was friendly and helpful. The granola bars and bananas in the morning were a nice touch. "

"pros: comfy bed, strong shower, location, parking cons: very weathered and worn, excessive traffic noise, urine smell outside room and around building, small room summary: i usually get good rooms through hotels.com. not this time. photos (and reviews) seemed deceptively nicer looking. would not stay there again. may also consider using another booking site"

"The room had a laminate hardwood floor that gave the impression that it was clean and as a result I found nothing objectionable. The ice machine outside was broken and it looked like it was broken for a considerable period of time. The lobby had a tiny ice machine which filled only one cup of ice. If you have a car you better check in early as parking is extremely limited. The location of the hotel offers great shopping and restaurant selection as it is on the north side of Lombard Street just one block from Chestnut which is a happening street in the Marina. I was traveling for business hence my needs are minimal which is a quiet room and a comfortable bed and although I was in the “basement” or 1st floor facing the parking lot it was surprisingly quiet. If you are looking for a budget hotel for a night or maybe two I think you would not be unhappy with this no frills establishment. "

"Lovely gem of a place. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Would definitely stay again if we returned. Having self contained kitchen was an absolute plus. Staff were fantastic to deal with. Close to amenities, could not fault our stay. "
