ESCAPE TO THE COUNTRY AT HUNTER RIVER RETREAT.
If your looking to leave the city behind and unwind on the deck of your own private rustic cottage with stunning views, to sit back and sip a glass of fine Hunter Valley wine and do nothing but soak up the peace and serenity. Then a visit to Hunter River Retreat is a must!
Perhaps a picnic on the mountain with a loved one, bush walking on our many trails, spotting local wildlife including our kangaroos and wallabies or feeding our farm animals interest you, then picturesque Hunter River Retreat is for you.
Hunter River Retreat is situated on 110 acres and approx. 2 hrs from Sydney, 15 minutes from Maitland, with boutique wineries close by and the main Hunter Valley wineries approx. 30 minutes away. Full Day Bus Winery Tours can also be organized that pick up from The Retreat - you can taste and not worry about driving.
The Olive Cottage is a private fully self-contained studio style cottage with queen sized bed and a large triangular spa bath in the lounge bedroom area along with a separate bathroom. It also has a log fire for those cosy romantic winter nights.

Fantastic location, super easy to communicate with, great little house with everything you need. A sunset picnic at the top of the mountain is a must if you stay here.

Hinterland recluse
Small self contained cottage with a great indoor fireplace. Cosy and warm. Peaceful and quiet. Perfect for professionals that want to reconnect with nature or simply eliminate the sounds of the city for a while. My wife and I stayed a week and found it perfect to unwind and recharge. Thanks again to our gracious hosts and the clever white horse....

Stunning
If you’re looking for a proper get away, no traffic noise, no people right next door you have to listen to and look at through the window Rosebrook is perfect. Scenery is amazing, cottage was better than it looked on the site. Spa was awesome, needed more firewood cause we went through it all and the horse came right up to our door on the last day to greet us which we were stoked about. Needed more apples though, the boy can eat!! Would recommend to anyone and already have. Thanks again,
