“The host was extremely attentive to any questions or needs. Excellent and immediate communication. Good, quiet location between Islip airport and Port Jefferson. The size of the unit was very adequate for two people. Bathroom was clean and adequately stocked with towels and wash cloths.The reason for 2 stars is we thought the apartment was not very clean from floor to ceiling. This apartment has huge potential to be very cute. In my option, it needs an entire over haul.”

A man washing a car in the driveway (not the host) directed us down a side yard and into a basement unit (never mentioned in the listing). There was no cell service, so we had to stand outside just to contact the host.The keypad lock didn’t work, and after multiple messages, the host told us not to worry because “the caretaker would make sure no one goes in.” This……

“Such a lovely place stay to stay! Truly a home away from home. The room appeared to be newly remodeled and decorated with a beautiful adjoining bathroom. In addition, the bed was so incredibly comfortable! The location was great and close to the university with private entry and access. The room had a small fridge and Keurig which was very handy. My son will be at Stony Brook a few years working in his PhD and will certainly be returning to this lovely little place for my next visit!”
