Stay at the Villa farm

The villa itself was beautiful !! Gorgeous views, wonderful pool, trails to hike, great people staffing as well as others staying on the property. 8 bungalows with other guests, and still very private. Access was a bit difficult. Road to property is dirt and very rough with many potholes from rainy season. Not regular car access type. Roads in Nicaragua leave much to be desired.. to say the least. Highways are excellent but be prepared for the driving !!

We have been traveling Costa Rica and Nicaragua for the last couple of years. We stayed here so we could see the Masaya Volcano. But the surprise was how wonderful Nan and the property was. Beautiful rolling hills, fruit trees, coffee plants, and a view of Lake Managua from the cabin and the pool. Nan arranged a tour for all of the guest of a farm and a factory that was just fantastic. We didn't get to do everything we wanted to do, so we will be returning. If you are going to visit the Volcano or are in the area, stay here. Nan is the best host I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I will be sending my friends. Stay here.

I cannot say enough good things about this property. The Host Nel was amazing, she was very helpful and instantly made us feel at home. She gave us a tour of the 20 acre property and showed us where to pick the fresh fruit from the trees. She really brought all the guests together on the property and made it feel like a little community. There was games every night which was a lot of fun, and the salt water pool was so fresh and warm. The views from the suite where absolutely stunning, and our villa was well equipped with amenities. My partner and I had the best time met the best people and we will definitely be returning one day. If I could rate it 11 out of 10 I would.

Beautiful cottage in a tranquil setting

We had a great experience there! Place matched our expectation and it was exactly like how the vrbo overview had described the home. Nel took great care of us. We are a family of 4 with 2 kids(5 and 9 years) old. It was peaceful retreat overlooking the Masaya lake. The kids had a blast there! , Kids did a lot of fresh fruit picking, running around the trees. Nel even got us fresh coconut water. We lazed around in the hammock enjoying the view, took hikes. Kids had a good swim in the pool. Nel was very friendly and took care of us right from arranging the taxi, recommending touristic spots. She was always on time and helpful! Property was well maintained. If you do not know spanish, would recommend getting a taxi from Nel. The taxi driver was reliable and stayed with us the whole day! Would definitely recommend this place, especially for families with kids.

An amazing get away and an awesome host.

We stayed here for just 4 nights and wish we had spent our whole trip here. The place was serene, abounding with fruit trees and our host Nel is one in a million. Not enough space to write about how she went above and beyond to make our journey and stay the best experience possible. In the very short time we spent in Masatepe, we got to love the place and will definitely be going back for a much longer stay. Thank you Nel for making our vacation so special.

The best vacation we have had!

Such a beautiful property and the people are wonderful. We had the best time. The villa was spotless, beautiful and quiet. ( exactly what we needed) Nel went above and beyond for us and made sure our daughter had everything she needed when we got there. We appreciated that more than you know. We will see you next year :)

Overwinteren in Nicaragua

Vier weken verbleven wij van half februari tot half maart op het complex Villa Vista Masaya, waar onze gastvrouw Nel en gastheer Joop een hele hoop bijdroegen aan ons vakantieplezier. Een schitterend landgoed, puur natuur, met daarin 8 mooie ruime bungalows, afwisselend voor 2 of 4 personen, stond tot onze beschikking. Iedere bungalow had een prachtig uitzicht op het meer en de vulkaan bij de stad Masaya. En wat ik als huisvrouw het fijnste vond: op verzoek kon onze bungalow tegen een kleine vergoeding wekelijks schoongemaakt worden. Echt vakantie dus! We hebben heerlijk gerelaxt op onze overdekte veranda en vaak gezwommen in het mooie zwembad. De goed ingerichte keuken daagde ons steeds weer uit tot het maken van lekkere en gezonde maaltijden. En iedere ochtend versgeperst sinaasappelsap van zelf geplukte sinaasappels uit de boomgaard bij het ontbijt en biologische koffie van het bedrijf, klasse! En dan het weer: iedere dag tussen de 25 en 30 graden met een verkoelend windje, wie wil dat nu niet? Hadden wij vragen dan stond vooral onze gastvrouw Nel altijd voor ons klaar met goede raad of handige tips voor bijvoorbeeld leuke uitstapjes. Onze reservering voor volgend jaar gaan wij nu al maken, dus Nel en Joop: tot volgend jaar.

We had a great time at Nel and Joop's place, overlooking Lago Masaya. She was very helpful with tips about the area and present just enough and not too much. We were happy to contribute to the social effort of employing local people on the property. We LOVED making juice every day with freshly picked oranges from the garden. The house is very appropriately equipped for all you might need. Do make sure you purchase the food you'll want before heading up from Masatepe because you are not going to want to leave!

Genieten van een prachtig uitzicht

Voor ons de 2e keer dat we hier onze dagen in Nicaragua hebben doorgebracht nu voor een langere periode (3 weken). De bungalows liggen in het buurtschap Nimboja op een paar minuten rijden van het stadje Masatepe (waar je boodschappen kunt doen). De bungalows zijn eenvoudig maar goed ingericht. Je kunt je eigen eten koken in het keukentje. Er is geen airco in de bungalow, maar dat is door de ligging ook niet nodig. er staat altijd een fris windje. Onze bungalow lag op een helling met het terras/veranda richting het kratermeer, waardoor je een prachtig uitzicht hebt op Masaya. Op het terrein zie je vele verschillende vogels en andere dieren. Je hebt het gevoel dat je in een volière wakker wordt, met al die prachtige vogelgeluiden. De Nederlandse eigenaren staan voor je klaar om je bv te helpen met uitstapjes in de buurt of gewoon een wandeling op het terrein. En in tegenstelling tot alle andere verblijven in Nicaragua kun je hier gewoon je Nederlandse stekker gebruiken. Een wereldstekker (voor Nederlandse gasten) is hier dus niet nodig Tips: -Huur een auto op het vliegveld in Managua (kan ook al vooraf via internet geregeld worden), zorg ervoor dat je een hoge auto huurt (bv een jimny, rav4) i.v.m de wegen in Nicaragua -Laat je door de eigenaren ophalen in Masatepe wanneer je er voor het eerst komt. -Neem een zaklantaarn mee. Het is om 18 uur donker en niet alles is verlicht in Nicaragua -Neem een verrekijker mee voor bv een beter zicht op de vulkaan
