"The location was good, right near the ferry, and the coffee station in the lobby was a nice perk, but at $70 per person, the dinner buffet was a huge rip-off. The wines were low quality and the food was very mediocre, with very small amounts of each item. They claimed it was the best food on the island when we checked in, but that was far from the truth."
HOTEL FORK & KNIFE Miyajima - Opening in Mar 28th 2026
10/10 Excellent
"Stayed 2 nights. Staying here gave me the
opportunity to spend the afternoon in Hiroshima on my way and have a full day on Miyajima. Great location - close to train and ferry to Miyajima. Friendly staff picked me up and dropped me off at the train station with my luggage. I appreciated the warm rooftop baths after hiking up and down the mountain on Miyajima. Definitely recommend for foodies - the dinners and breakfasts were amazing! They have a nice wine selection, too. Esthetics and staff were much appreciated. One of my top stays while in Japan for 3 weeks!"
"I was surprised to find there was no shower/bath in my room and that it was necessary to shower in the communal onsen. For the very high weekend rate of the room, I expected more. However, the staff in the restaurant were attentive to all dietary restrictions and remembered them for each meal."
"There I free shuttle from the train station to hotel which was helpful because we had to walk one night because we arrived past the time. It’s not too far. It’s close to the JR west terminal to get to Miyajima. We didn’t utilize the bath because we had tattoos so can’t say. But liked the amenities bar and had kid la shampoo and body wash available. But didn’t see much families though. Was a nice location."
"A couple of hundred yards from the station from which it is clearly visible this hotel offers rooms which are probably a bit larger than most, spotlessly clean and certainly excellent value for money."
"This hotel is very conveniently located near the ferry station, making it ideal for visiting Miyajima early in the morning or later in the evening, away from the crowds. Miyajimaguchi itself is also a pleasant area to relax and enjoy good seafood. The room was clean, efficient and cozy, and the staff were very kind and helpful. A lot of amenities provided. I also discovered buckwheat pillows here for the first time and absolutely loved them — I will definitely look into getting one back home!

"The staff was terrific; very kind and attentive. The view of the Tori gate was incredible from our room. Food was wonderful and there was a lot of it!
More that anything, Miyajima is just a wonderful place! If we can manage it we will go back! Also, they have no issue with tattoos in the onset, which is a plus for me!"
