Skiers have a wide choice of ski areas nearby, such as Grosseck-Speiereck, Fanningberg, Obertauern or the Katschberg with its great A1, one of the longest slopes in the Alps. The ski bus stops every 15 minutes and is easily accessible on foot.

In summer, nature lovers get their money's worth. Mauterndorf and its surroundings are ideal for hiking or you can take a nice ride on the "Taurachbahn", Austria's highest narrow-gauge railway. This steam locomotive only runs in summer and is therefore a very special highlight during your stay in Mauterndorf. For golfers, a well-maintained 18-hole golf course is only 8 km away, a special experience to hit the ball between the mountains.

Very popular excursion destinations are also Mauterndorf Castle, the Silent Night Church Mariapfarr or the alpine village Lessach. The hut village of Göriach is also ideal for hikers, the trail is toll-free from mid/end of May to the beginning of October, here you can fortify yourself in summer after a beautiful hike in nature at the Hansalhütte.

After a few minutes' walk you are in the centre of Mauterndorf, where you will find restaurants, inns and shopping centres.
