「Beautiful location. The kids loved swimming, taking the kayaks out and exploring the lake shores for wildlife. Made a great day trip to Mackinac Island and a visit to Tahkuamena Falls. Chris was a great host. 」

「Property was great for two families (4 adults, 3 kids). Plenty of space for everyone for both lounging and sleeping. Kitchen had everything we needed for meals. Good amount of privacy but close to the gas station. Grocery store and other stores within 15 minutes. Everyone enjoyed the pontoon boat rides and spending the evenings around the fire pit. Beautiful wooded view with the lake in the background. 」

「Great location, lake is beautiful and cottage is perfect for small families. 」

「The property seemed clean and comfortable. The heating system worked well. We cooked several meals there and enjoyed 4 nights of excellent sleep. We also used the outdoor grill, using wood, and found it easy to use as well. I would definitely stay here again.」

「Great stay, as described, tidy, neat, clean linens and bathroom. Great location, dark sky, no neighbors, and a beautiful view. In June, mosquitos were formidable, but a non-issue with the right spray and mitigation. Cell service was very poor, which is a pro and con. Can call out via Verizon and have necessary contact, if needed. Host was very good to communicate with and shared a great location with us. 」

「Perfect little town for a getaway. We stayed for 3 nights and explored the area. The restaurants were great, the beaches were beautiful and the cabin was cozy to come back to. Nice and quiet, offered the right amount of privacy and the bonfire area was perfect. Highly recommend.」

「The Sunshine Shack is conveniently located near downtown Newberry. The house is very cozy and my kids loved the basement area with pool table and games. We had an issue with the refrigerator while there and the owners responded quickly and remedied the situation as fast and well as they could. They were very friendly. We loved the binder of restaurant and activity suggestions (Pizza Place was excellent, we also loved the ice cream at the raccoon store!) Huge empty garage if you need it and a big...

「Very nice cozy get away beach is close by down the road . Also nice water falls about 10 min. Away( Sable falls) Took a drive along coast line to Munising to do a tour of Picture rocks as well. The only thing I think the place needed was more pots and pans for cooking something. There was one huge pot and one frying pan to use , other than that the place was very nice. Thank you for letting me stay!」

「Cozy cabin in a lovely location. I am a repeat visitor and always want to return. The cabin is clean and has everything you need for a week’s vacation and is within walking distance from town. 」

Plenty of activities nearby but you may just want to stay on site to watch the wildlife in the yard and the freighters go by.Kim is a great host and better tour guide.Great advice about shopping for groceries and gas in the area and knows all the where to go and what to do in the UP.」

「This perfect property is right before the famous Agate Beach parking lot. No place to park on an aurora night? No problem. We enjoyed walking down to the beach every night, lots of coffee on the viewing deck, and actually caught some aurora while trying to photograph the Milky Way. We had plenty of room for everyone to relax and have their own rooms. A kitchen and a half for everyone to enjoy, and plenty of things to do. There were 2 TVs but we never used them with being so close to the beach....
