Loved our stay. Rustic with conveinances. The charm of a historical cabin was right up our alley and Dave was great at communicating. Downstairs bathroom was well appointed and made our stay very comfortable.
This is the second time our group has rented this cabin. The location is close enough to the UP to take in some lovely hikes in the Porcupines. There was plenty of space for our mixed bag of humans and canines. We really loved having a bit warmer weather in March that enabled us to use the fabulous fire pit that overlooks the lake.
Great rustic feel with plenty of amenities. The fall colors were peak. Beds were comfortable. Anyone staying should definitely check out the pizza from Dear Lodge close by! Great view of the lake!
My wife, infant, dog, and I spent the week here in the fall. The weather was cold but the cabin was warm and inviting. Super easy and simple check-in process. Great location to hiking trails and other points of interest.
The cabin was well appointed, clean, spacious, as described. The cabin's location is private, wooded, and located on a peaceful waterfront. Mercer is a fantastic small town, and the people were very nice. It's pretty centrally located within 30/45 minute drive to many other towns of interest. Communication with Dave was excellent. Would definitely come back.
Can't wait to stay when the lower level is finished! Perfect for our little get away! Planned the trip for snowmobiling, but no snow, the chance you take, and we decided not to cancel and didn't bring the sleds but got up every morning to beautiful view and made the best of it!!
This is as dreamy as it looks. I spent summers in northern wisconsin as a kid and wanted to share the experience with my family. The cabin is gorgeous and historic. Beautiful lake views from screened in porch. Lake beautiful. It's fairly remote - which is what we wanted. A quiet retreat.
We did lots of kayaking, boating, and chess, reading, drawing, board games and puzzles, on rainy days. Enjoyed wild animal encounters of all kinds. We had so much fun. And even for teens, it was nice to unplug. Also, best viinyl collection in the Northwoods for sure. Will definitely go back again!
First I want to address the cleanliness. It is an old cabin with real logs. And it is in the country, so it was not pristine. But it was very clean in the kitchen where it matters for me. The showers were also very clean.
The basement is recently redone with laminate floor and modern bathroom and clean bedrooms. Lots and lots of towels and washcloths. The main floor is wonderfully quaint log cabin with upgraded kitchen with marble countertops. Well equipped. Gas grill outside. So quiet. Used the kayak on the very quiet water. Very restful. There is a TV and internet access. Any question I had, Dave responded in minutes to my text. I recommend this property and will very possibly return.

2/10 Terrible

The house was deteriorating terribly. There was mold growing on the bedroom wall.
I would love to send you pictures this is NOT a house you should be listing on your site. The mold and mildew was overwhelming. Open eletrict outlets, boards falling off the outside of the house, the toilet rarely flushed and the kitchen circuits popped continually. We were quite disappointed. The saving grace was the lake and the boat. Not sure we will use your site again for our vacation planning.
I chose to stay in this cabin because my dad once owned this property, and my grandparents and an Aunt n Uncle owned the other 2 cabins. This cabin has obviously changed a lot since my dad owned it but all the work the new owner has done with it is very nice to see. The cabin is still pretty much the way it was as far as space but he added a walk out basement and is in the process of adding more rooms and an additional bathroom and it looks fabulous. The walk out basement takes you right out to a fire pit and the lake. The cabin is cozy, the view is the best and you can see the view from the sun porch and the kitchen which is nice. We brought are own kayaks although they do have ones you can use which is awesome but we have fishing kayaks. Overall it was great being up there it’s quiet and a great spot to reset(shutdown). We ate at the cabin most of the time just to soak up the beauty of the lake, the wildlife and peacefulness. We did do a trip up to superior falls and we were going to do copper peak but we ran out of time. It’s ok there will be a next time. It’s a great cabin.
No complaints about the property. Just be cautious if someone has a large trailer getting through the trees at the top of the driveway.

Lovely Lakefront Location
This was a very lovely lakefront home and exceeded our expectations. The downstairs was finished when we got there and had 2 bedrooms and an additional bathroom. That made our trip even nicer. The lake is beautiful and this house's location is private and quiet. We enjoyed the kayaks and fire pit. We also enjoyed eating all of our meals on the porch with a view of the lake. Dave was a great host and very attentive. We would highly recommend!
We really enjoyed our stay here. We loved the original, rustic charm of the cabin with very nice up to date kitchen and bathrooms. The basement remodel is completely new. Our family enjoyed the front porch, the puzzles, and record player. Would definitely recommend.
Comfortable and convenient to waterfalls. Spacious and we'd bring more family once 2nd bathroom is completed. Kitchen has quality supplies. Our granddaughter enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boat.
We took a trip north with friends to snowmobile. The host/cabin owner is hands down the absolute best. Responds immediately, MORE than accommodating, and the cabin was FANTASTIC. We will absolutely be using this cabin for future trips.
We had a good time at this cabin! The property manager reached out ahead of time to let us know that cabin was ready and he was available if we had any questions or needed anything! We liked that the cabin was tucked away and right on the water! We had nightly fires and enjoyed the wood stove inside as well! We did some research ahead of time to look for local things to do like bars/restaurants, UTV rentals, parks and trails! We had a blast UTVing and used B&B adventures! So glad we booked. Thanks for having us!
Loved the cabin, setting, views, lake, etc. We've been going "up north" for many years and this was probably my favorite experience! The basement was in the process of being finished so it will have a lot more room for additional people soon I assume. We'll be going back!

Great outdoors experience
Amazing setting!!! House was very comfortable. Kitchen remodel was a really nice touch. Great dining area w view of lake. Dave, Owner, was extremely responsive and easy to work with. Also very nice that the firewood was included. Thanks Dave
We enjoyed our stay! We loved the access to the quiet lake and a nice fire pit with plenty of seating. We kayaked every day, and our dog really enjoyed playing in the water! The cabin was perfect for the northern setting with an efficient, well-stocked kitchen and an updated bathroom. There were plenty of beds to choose from. We had a great meal at The Pines, in Mercer, a quaint little town close by.
Great, cozy place to come back to after a day of riding the trails. The trail is across the hwy from the driveway. Dear Lodge is also at the end of the driveway. Check out their all you can eat pizza night on Thursdays. Host was responsive to all our questions.
