Dated, smelly and poor communication
We booked this VRBO for a short weekend. Check in went smoothly. Our initial impression was the place was dated. Old bedspreads towels and decor which was fine. Just looking for a comfortable place to stay. When we went to use the water there was a very strong odor - rotten eggs is the best way to describe it. I immediately messaged the host to let them know and we called maintenance as soon as they opened the next morning. Maintenance told us to open up the faucets to fill the pea trap (or something like that) which we did. I believe it did help the smell of the water but released that rotten egg smell throughout the unit. It was terrible! We couldn’t eat in the unit and left as often as possible. I called maintenance again to which they said they’d try to find something to pull the air out of the unit. We never heard from them again. Granted we left often to get out of the place! Maybe they came by? We don’t know.
I messaged the host letting them know that for what we paid per night along with fees and cleaning it was extremely expensive to have such a poor experience with their unit and really nothing much was ever done about it. I asked if a small portion could be refunded for our trouble to which they said no.
I have never left a poor review in my life! But was extremely dissatisfied with our experience here.
