Don’t bother with best western next door, all the amenities boasted by best western are actually provided at this hotel next door, they literally just send you to this hotel for the pool, hot tub, breakfast and bar. It’s also cheaper here for some reason. But it’s Oakland and this hotel is also next to the hooker hotel motel 6 which is a crime magnet for petty theft and car break in’s. I did find the back patio very nice for evening peace and views of the canal.

Room was spacious and welcoming. The carpet in the hall was brand new. The hotel is continuing to improve every time I visit
