Built in the 1930s as a restaurant (serving chicken!) when logging was a way of life in the southern Sierra Nevada foothills, today Merrynook is an art-filled garden cabin just a short drive from Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks and Sequoia National Forest.​

Bachrun and Mahalia LoMele own and manage Merrynook, and its sister cabin next door, Fivespot. They have been vacation hosts in Pinehurst since 2008.

Mahalia’s home in the woods was great!! We all loved the house and all the homey touches ( art, books, wood burning stove, bathtub!). We had all we needed and truly enjoyed our time.
