“Whilst the infrastructure and location were classic Tuscany, the hospitality (staff engagement & food) were underwhelming. It never felt welcoming & it was challenging to discern who were the owners, staff or guests. It was often unclear how their systems operated, ie how to purchase wine/drinks, when dinner or breakfast would be available & the service was extremely slow. We stayed for 3 nights & ate dinner there each night (meal ~€50 pp) as had been tempted by the photos of gorgeous food when……

“La Chiusa is beautiful, staff are very nice and the location fantastic; views from the property and situated next to Montifollonico with access to grocery store, pharmacy and super local restaurant (13 Gobbi). Rooms had a fridge but no kettle, coffee maker or even cups or glasses which was odd and would make a big positive difference so that you can make a hot drink or sip your own wine while enjoying the view! If you’re a foodie you will love the onsite restaurant, but it is a limited menu so……

“Roberto and Victoria are lovely! So nice, very helpful and breakfast was so nice out in the garden! Roberto can’t do enough for you! Hotel is up around the middle of the town, well located to go up or down and near everything! The room we had was old, crowded and bathroom very tiny, even hard for my husband to fit between the sink and wall to get to the toilet, it’s just that the property is old and not renovated so understandable but because I depend a lot on reviews, I’m telling it like it……

“Wonderful hotel in the heart of Montepulchiano. Hotel staff treated us like family. Arrival instructions were clear and easy to manage. Appreciated the parking, even tho it was shortly off-site. Our room was spacious and well equipped. We particularly enjoyed the balcony/view and the rooftop patio, where we enjoyed the bottle of wine we picked up at the little winery tasting room just across the ally from our hotel entrance. The 10 euro breakfast was lovely. Our only small complaint was the air……

“Hotel is along the road, very convenient to find parking and the address. The rooms are a bit old, but the view is stunning with a panorama of the entire Tuscan countryside. The hotel offers dinner, but if you’re willing to drive for 10 mins there is some delicious, great value dining options in town. ”
