Great cottage!

This was the perfect place to stay for our son’s college graduation! The cottage was clean and comfortable. The view was great. We really loved having use of the kayaks and the canoe.

Great view!

First impressions…yard is really messy. Hadn’t been cleaned up in awhile. Tons of leaves, nut shells etc. inside the house, one toilet didn’t work. Beds were comfy. Overall, this was a lovely location. Lots of steps to go down to the water. 85 in all. Appliances were good. Kids had a good time. Thanks for a good visit.

Gotta take care of the outside better

When people pay to come to the lake, they want to be able to enjoy the porches and view. This means attention to quality furniture and cleaning the outside decks for comfortable use and relaxation. Also, real dishes instead of paper plates and solo cups, please. We left a day early.

Inside the house was clean. Disappointed that there weren't any real dishes or glassware, just paper plates and solo cups. It's a cute place with a nice location, but we couldn't even use the outside space at all for all of the dirt and spider webs everywhere. Old deck furniture. Sadly, we left a day early. Great potential, but homeowners need to take care of these things. Other guests have stated the same thing.

The water pressure was "BAD"! We had to call them on day 2, and they came and fixed the water filter, and it got better. There are some areas with rotten wood in the dock area! Be careful not to step into them! Dangerous! The patio chair cushions were very dirty! The way you hesitate to sit on them!

Beautiful!

We had a great stay, nothing to complain about. The place was clean, well stocked kitchen (everything worked), comfy beds and very accommodating! We enjoyed some of the games/puzzles. Kayaks were fun. My only suggestion to owner/property manager is PLEASE remove the invasive vines covering the trees before it kills them. From the water, it definitely takes away from the beauty of this house compared to neighboring properties. Yes, there are a lot of stairs to the dock but we all managed them pretty well for a bunch of near & over 60 folks. In all honesty, a little bench would be perfect halfway up where there is a flat area (another suggestion for owner). Other than that, it was a much needed, restful weekend. I'm sure we'll be back.

There were some things we liked, but it was overshadowed by how bad this rental company screwed up:1. House wasn't ready: When we arrived shortly after our check-in time, there was someone from the rental company inside the house doing dishes. She mentioned to us that the comforter for the master bed was missing, then she left without further explanation.2. Dirty/missing bedding: We figured the comforter was in the dryer or the closet or that they were going to bring us one that night, but there was no king size comforter in the house and they didn't bring us one until the following afternoon. The top-sheet and pillow cases on the master bed also appeared to be covered in pet hair (short black/white/gray hairs).3. Master bathroom: The stick-on tile in the master bathroom was done horribly and there are 1 inch gaps between some of the tiles. The triangular shaped tile directly in front of the shower was completely unglued from the floor. The shower head also appeared to be leaking into the wall.4. Dirty outdoor furniture: About half of the outdoor furniture was dirty to the point of being unusable, cobwebs/debris all over the deck.5. Overall poor shape of the house/dock: Dead spots in the floor, rotted boards, etc.Rental company gave us 100 food credit and a bag of pens/cups/etc with their branding as compensation.There was more but I am limited to 1,500 characters in this review.I do not recommend this property or this rental company based on our experience.

Rat infested

The previous renter left a 1-star rating due to rat feces throughout house and in kitchen. I sent a message through VRBO and talked directly with the management service about my concerns and cancelling the reservation. They assured me that the problems were taken care of and the house was thoroughly cleaned. When I showed up we noticed rat turds in one of the kitchen drawers and more in the utensil drawer on the forks/spoons/knives! We went to get some cleaning supplies from the closet and the floor was covered in rat turds. We looked around the house and found rat tires under the furniture and a big spider nest. The place was obviously not cleaned up as I was assured. We had boat reservations the entire week and couldn’t cancel all off our plans at the last moment because I was assured the house was as clean and the problems taken care of. I have pictures of all the rat feces and a copy of the correspondence with the management company through VRBO. We had to eat out the entire time and my daughter and her husband left early due to the disgust.
