"Just got back from a fabulous week at Smith Mountain Lake. Hideaway Ridge was everything we could have wanted and more. 7 adults and one child had plenty of space to spread out. 3 of our group couldn't make it, but if they had been able to come, there were more than enough rooms for them.Convenient to Food Lion, restaurants, and the marina.Mark took good care of the pool and is such a nice guy. Thanks for everything. We can't wait to come back next summer."

"The house was great, we enjoyed the space, especially the screened in porch. The dock top level was great for sun bathing. The dock area is crowded, extremely close to neighbors. We had jet skis and a boat and with the low water level struggled to keep them secured. A floating dock would be a great addition."

"This property is top notch! The hosts have a lot of those little details accounted for that other properties fall short of having. From the amount of tvs and overhead fans there isn't a place on the property you can't sit/stand and relax in comfort. The dock is incredible for a relaxing morning beverage or afternoon dance party. It's as fun and picturesque as the photos lead you to believe.Just keep one eye on your weather app and be prepared to batton down the hatches when thunderstorms come rolling through!"

"HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Spacious, comfortable, fabulous home with gorgeous dock views! This home was wonderfully clean, had comfy beds, a fully stocked kitchen, and LOTS of extras. We loved our stay with our family and dog. We would absolutely return for another stay. Great host, great house!!"

"The property was just as advertised. Located directly on the lake. Just a quick walk to the dock to swim and put the provided kayaks and canoe. Our grandkids loved the easy access to the lake. We didn’t use the community pool. It appeared to be very nice and there was a key card for access in the condo. We brought our own linens and towels without complaint. It made sense that one reviewer took exception to not having bedding. We are used to lake units being rented for entire weeks without linens. The unit was recently added to VRBO which allows for shorter stays but still follows the week long model of not providing linens and towels. Ownership may want to revisit that philosophy. The cleaning company showed up after we arrived which was my reason for 4 stars. Also the weekly pickup of trash causes issues with the VRBO model. We had stinky trash in the garage. The cleaning folks did take care of it. The unit was great and we will likely rent it again in the future."

"We loved staying at this property. The house was great, and the screened porch was my favorite feature. One night we watched two families of deer from the porch - beautiful! The kids loved the bedroom downstairs that has a game table with multiple games. It is close to a grocery store and many of the lake's attractions, but also set apart in a quiet, tranquil setting. I definitely recommend!"
