Perfect Gite for Summer tranquillity

Our stay at La Crèche gave us a peaceful home location from which to enjoy the late Summer climate around Bergerac. The standard of facilities and layout of the Gite were well presented with the terrace providing a nice private dining area. The pool is shared with the other Gite on site but most of the time we had the pool to ourselves. The tranquil pool setting has a peaceful view down the fields where you can watch the owners horses at play. Christine and Gerard were lovely hosts and really made our stay welcoming. We have some wonderful memories to reflect on and will definitely return.

Das Ferienhäuschen , eine Art cottage, ist liebevoll und rundum komfortabel eingerichtet. Die unmittelbare Umgebung ist wie ein englischer Park . Vor allem mit den herzlichen Gastgebern, die jederzeit auch hilfreich sind, ergibt das die besten Rahmenbedingungen für einen erholsamen Urlaub im Perigord.

Peaceful location

The gite has all the necessary facilities and, although close to the owner's house, has its own private terrace. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious.It is ideal for pets as the grounds are extensive and there are plenty of walks and a lake nearby.

Séjour absolument merveilleux et emplacement de rêve, tout a été très bien pensé, maison très très bien équipée, pas de voisinage donc aucun bruit pas de vis à vis. Beaucoup beaucoup de charme pour la maison. Nous reviendrons c’est certain. Les propriétaires sont adorables tout y est même Zoé labrador absolument mignonne comme tout qui nous a accompagné tout le séjour, un vrai bonheur.

Great little home with huge garden, lovely hosts

We stayed a week in the beautiful little house and loved every minute. The huge garden, the great pool, the beautiful surroundings. And the silence. It was absolutely quiet, with the sounds of birds, trees and the horses. The dog Zoe, was adorable. Quiet, happy to play with but by no means irritating or noisy. The hosts are great and welcoming, thank you Gerard and Christine! The house is only two kilometers from the lovely village of Issigeac. We had breakfast and a coffee every morning over there at the small terrace of Bar l’Europe, next to the church (bring your own croissants). The location is great for discovering all the lovely villages in the Dordogne.

De vraies vacances !

Très beau gîte très bien équipé, sur un magnifique domaine avec piscine. Les propriétaires sont très accueillants et abordables. Parfait si vous recherchez des vacances reposantes, au calme, tout en étant proche de sites historiques à visiter, de bastides, de producteurs de vin ou de foie gras et confits. Village d'Issigeac à 2 km avec toutes les commodités, Bergerac très proche. Nous avons bien profité de la piscine après nos escapades. Gîte à recommander, vraiment !

Schitterend verblijf in een unieke omgeving met enorm vriendelijke eigenaars

De gite ligt in een prachtig domein, omgeven door mooie natuur en met een prachtig uitzicht. Er ligt een mooi zwembad exclusief voor de huurders van de twee woningen. Le Séchoir is zeer goed uitgerust en tot in de puntjes verzorgd. De eigenaars Christine en Gerard zijn super lieve, hartelijke en behulpzame mensen. Issigeac is een tof stadje met een paar goede restaurants. Dit verblijf is uniek om met twee van te genieten (minder geschikt voor kleine kinderen). De eigenaars richten zich inderdaad op koppels, minder op gezinnen met kinderen. Een absolute topper waar we later zeker naar terugkeren !!

Charming, peaceful and well equipped

The gite is set in beautiful and extensive grounds in the countryside. It is well equipped and there is a nice, clean swimming pool with a view. Our only problem were the low beams in the kitchen, which we were both constantly banging our heads on! The nearby ancient village of Issigeac is beautiful with a Sunday market that is not to be missed. We enjoyed our stay very much and the owners and their dog were perfect hosts. We hope very much to return to La Barrat in the near future.

Gite situé dans une magnifique région à deux pas de sites d'exceptions (Sarlat, Lascaux...). Le village tout proche propose de nombreuses animations. Le gite est très bien équipé, rien ne manque et les propriétaires ainsi que leurs filles sont aux petits soins. Amoureux du calme et de la nature, n'hésitez pas à y séjourner, vous serez magnifiquement bien reçus par toute la famille y compris par l'adorable labrador de la famille.

Our sixth stay at La Barrat

This was our sixth stay at La Barrat and the new owners Gerard and Christine continue to improve the standard of the accommodation . They are great hosts assisting in booking the local restaurants and general advice. The setting is quiet and ideal for walking, and cycling or just sitting by the lovely pool. We enjoy bird watching and the area is home to a wide range of interesting species including golden Orioles , Hoopoes and Black Kites. There are now a number of walks marked out by the local tourist office which take you through the vineyards and countryside. We have already booked for 2017

un petit coin de paradis

Nous venons de passer une superbe semaine de vacances à la barrat. Le gîte est joli,spacieux,fonctionnel et très bien équipé dans un très beau cadre. Il est idéalement situé pour découvrir la région, à proximité de jolies bastides (montpazier,montflanquin,villereal,...) et à moins de 2 km d'issigeac, joli village moyenâgeux avec un marché très bien achalandé et toutes les boutiques nécessaires pour les courses. Nous avons également visité châteaux et dégusté du bon vin dans les caves alentours et du bon foie gras dans la ferme voisine.nous nous sommes également régalés au restaurant l"ancienne gare". Merci à Christine et Gérard pour nous avoir aidés à découvrir cette magnifique région et surtout pour leur accueil et leur gentillesse. Il y a tant de choses à faire et à voir que ce fût trop court ! Donc nous reviendrons! Nous recommandons ce gîte les yeux fermés mais ouvrez les tout grands quand vous y êtes !
