The apartment featuring Gothic arches, is located in a townhouse dating from the 17th century, in a narrow alley in the historic centre of the charming old town of Monopoli.
The spacious former captain’s home has been renovated with a great love for details and converted into a holiday apartment equipped to a high standard. Spaciousness and high ceilings, reduced furnishings and modern amenities are the distinguishing features of Casa Polpo.
The 75 square metre apartment is located on the first floor. It has a large kitchen / dining / living area, a spacious bedroom with en-suite shower bath and a separate toilet.
The kitchen is the heart of the apartment. Fully equipped cooking island with 5-burner gas range, oven, dishwasher, large refrigerator, plenty of cooking utensils, dinnerware and cutlery, plus some Italian cooking books.
The balcony is perfect for watching life in the alley, having breakfast, reading, or having an aperitivo.
The bathroom with shower has direct access from the bedroom.
Shops, cafés and restaurants are just round the corner, and the small local beach is also within easy reach: 172 metres from Casa Polpo.
Narrow alleys, plenty of churches. In Monopoli’s historic centre with its winding maze of narrow alleys all houses seem to be connected with each other. Laundry is hanging from the balconies, and grandmothers are sitting in front of their houses cleaning vegetables, you hear Italian radio playing and the sound of waves breaking against the quay. Monopoli seems to be straight out of a picture-book, yet it is a real, vibrant town where people live and work.
There are lonely coves, beautiful sandy beaches and cliffs to explore in the surrounding area.
The varied countryside around Monopoli has a lot to offer. The picturesque towns of Locorotondo, Ostuni, Alberobello or Lecce are all within easy reach.
Both our apartments are a perfect base for exploring the area and a relaxed holiday.
