Situated in a strategic position halfway between Florence and Siena the castle S. Andrea a Cellole is within easy access of all the most important tourist sites, yet immersed in the quiet of the countryside where the birds sing and in the hot summer evenings the fireflies glow. Far from major roads and motorways the only sound you will hear is the odd tractor ploughing the vines.
What better way to spend a relaxing holiday in our mature garden , taking a dip in the large (12X6 m) pool and sunbathing on wooden sun loungers with mattresses, lunching under the shady pergolas or just sipping a glass of wine, or perhaps reading a book under a shady tree.
With both Florence and Siena little over half an hour away by car what could be easier than sightseeing the wonderful art treasures that Tuscany has to offer, returning in the latter part of the day to enjoy a quick dip before dinner in the garden or a foray out to one of the many typical restaurants in the area… of which still very good value.
Cottage Murlo is a spacious two bedroom cottage for up to four people. Entering on the ground floor through glass doors from the garden is the spacious fully fitted kitchen /dining /sitting room. Upstairs are two large bedrooms, one twin and one double with high beamed ceilings and terracotta floors. The bathroom is ensuite in the master bedroom, and has a bath and shower.

Exterior Details The large 12X6M swimming pool is situated in the garden facing cottages Murlo and Polvereto and is equipped with loungers and chairs, there is a stone built barbecue and all the cottages have their own patio with pergola and are furnished with teak garden furniture.
Free Wi-Fi. Fan in bed room. No hidden extras only local tourist tax 50cts per person per day to be paid locally.
Further Details Cottages Polvereto and Murlo can be rented together making one large cottage with three double bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Tres bel endroit pour visiter Florence, Sienne, les villages de Toscane et le Chianti. La maison est magnifique avec une superbe vue. Marzio a été un hôte parfait pour nous conseiller visites et restaurant. C'est un endroit idéal pour se reposer et visiter la Toscane. L'appartement est parfait pour une famille de 4 et c'est en plus très agreable d'avoir un petit extérieur pour manger dehors. Je recommande et reviendrai avec plaisir !

The property was fantastic! The view and accommodations were great, and the host was quite possibly the best host we’ve ever had. He was flexible, accommodating and outstanding to work with in every way. Only thing I was slightly concerned about ahead of time was the spiral staircase to the 2nd floor of our unit, but my soon to be 72 year old mother-in-law was able to negotiate it fine. Will absolutely stay again next trip to Tuscany!

We arrived late at night down a tiny, twisty dirt road after having been lost and exhausted from hours of travel. The castle was certainly impressive in the dark! Marzio was patient and communicative and settled us in even though we were so late. Bird song woke us to an idyllic setting, roses in bloom, views of the landscape and a perfect terrace for coffee. Throughout our stay Marzio was so helpful, checked in on us very day, had tips and helpful suggestions. We suggest doing the BBQ dinner that he offers- very generous portions and fun to visit with other guests! The history of Cellole is part of the charm and experience. My only complaint was a slight musty smell when we arrived- but that disappeared after a few days. Thank you Mario and Elena! I hope to see you (and the new one!) again soon!

Having travelled extensively we can honestly say that our stay in Murlo cottage was one of our very best self-contained experiences ever. Marzio and his wife Elena are the very best hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them and Marzio had all the information at hand for us or knew how to find it out. The cottage was clean and comfortable with everything we needed for a lovely stay. The staircase was a bit of a challenge at first but soon we were up and down it like mountain goats! The swimming pool was lovely, especially after a hot day sightseeing around Tuscany. The BBQ that we had as an added extra that Marzio and Elena catered was DELICIOUS and it was entertaining mixing with other guests. All in all our stay was perfect. Be prepared for a narrow unmade road for the last section before arrival, but if you drive according to the conditions it is not a problem at all. It is definitely well worth it. We will recommend this accommodation to anyone we hear is travelling to Tuscany.

Wir haben eine erholsame Woche im Cottage "Murlo" verbracht. Marzio ist ein sehr netter, freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber, der viel Wert darauf legt, dass sich seine Gäste wohlfühlen. Die Räumlichkeiten entsprechen den Beschreibungen und Bildern. Ein Sonnentag am klaren und sauberen Pool ist Erholung pur. Florenz und die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten der Toskana sind mit dem Auto gut erreichbar. Marzio gibt gerne Tipps und Anregungen für einen erholsamen Aufenthalt. Marzio's Vater, der die Unterkunft in den späten 80'er Jahren aus Ruinen aufgebaut hat, gibt auf Nachfrage auch gerne Auskunft zur Geschichte des Anwesens. Wir haben die Zeit vor Ort sehr genossen und kommen gerne wieder.

Bij aankomst werden we vriendelijk onthaald door Marzio. We kregen een rondleiding, een flesje lekkere Chianti wijn. Marzio is een gastheer eerste klas. Hij geeft tips over bezienswaardigheden, waar je (goedkoop) kan parkeren bij uitstappen naar Siena en Firenze( elk op zo'n 40 minuten rijden) ,waar je goede restaurants in de buurt vindt(hij reserveert deze ook voor je). Marzio organiseert zonder verplichtingen een lekkere en gezellige Italiaanse barbecue avond voor alle gasten. Ik heb schrik van honden en was wat terughoudend op voorhand tav de 2 honden van Marzio. Maar dat viel allemaal goed mee. De honden zijn heel braaf en kalm en storen je absoluut niet als je dit niet wil. Het zwembad zorgt voor een aangename verkoeling. Het huisje was in klassieke Italiaanse stijl bemeubeld. Dit past echt bij de accomodatie. En sinds kort was er ook in de slaapkamers airco voorzien. We hebben deze niet nodig gehad. Het huisje heeft dikke muren. Als je de luiken overdag dicht laat bleef het redelijk koel in huis. Maar ik kan me voorstellen dat bij temperaturen boven de 35°C de airco welkom is. Een adres om terug te keren maar dan voor langere tijd .

Für uns der perfekte Aufenthalt in der Toskana. Marzio ist ein sehr netter und engagierter Gastgeber, der uns mit seinem Wissen über die Region schöne Tagestouren empfehlen konnte. Die Unterkunft wurde von Marzios Familie authentisch restauriert und fügt sich mit ihrem Stil perfekt in die toskanische Landschaft ein. Das Gartengelände mit Pool ist liebevoll gestaltet. Hier konnten wir einige entspannte Stunden verbringen. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Unsere Ferienwohnung (2-stöckig) war für uns beide für 10 Tage Aufenthalt ideal. Sie war sehr gut ausgerüstet und gemütlich. Wir haben täglich draußen unter der Pergola, mit herrlichen Blick, gefrühstückt und den toll gepflegten, großen Pool sehr genossen. Ideale Lage für Ausflüge nach Florenz und Siena. Marcio, unser Wirt, hat uns sehr freundlich, ausgiebig und exzellent beraten (bzgl. Weinprobe, Schuhkauf in Florenz, Parkplätze, Restaurants u.v.m.). Wir kommen gerne wieder. Karin und Sten

This villa is just perfect!! Views of the Tuscan Hills are spectacular. The rooms and kitchen is very spacious. The hosts are absolutely wonderful, spending as much time as we needed to become educated about the surrounding areas and attractions. We cannot wait to return!

My husband and I had a fantastic time visiting Tuscany and staying at Cellole and Cottage Murlo. The location is simply perfect, providing a quiet respite each evening after seeing the local sights during the day. Located in Chianti, vineyards, restaurants, and amazing hill towns (Siena, Volterra, San Gimignano) are all very close. The owners are full of a wealth of information and provided us with many welcome resources--setting up restaurant reservations, wine tastings, and driving/parking suggestions. Marzio was so very pleasant and helpful. I wholeheartedly recommend this vacation rental--we hope to return someday soon ourselves!

Wir haben die Woche in Montespertoli genossen. Das Anwesen liegt sehr abgeschieden auf einem Hügel. So hat man einen wunderbaren Blick auf die Umgebung. In der Wohnung fehlte es an nichts, der Pool war eine willkommene Abkühlung und der außen liegende Eßplatz hervorragend beschattet. Das Grundstück ist groß, bietet viele Gelegenheiten zum Verweilen. Die Gastgeber sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und immer ansprechbar. Einziger Wermutstropfen für uns: die großen Hunde der Familie, die zwar freundlich und nicht ständig präsent waren, für unseren Geschmack für die perfekten Ferien aber verzichtbar wären.

We stayed here for a week during a three week touring holiday in Italy. Adela, Mauro and Marzio made us very welcome but without being intrusive. The location is away from the main roads but by no means remote from a selection of restaurants within a 15-20 minute drive, and all major Tuscan attractions are easily accessible. Relaxing in the peace and quiet of the beautiful grounds with the excellent pool was a real highlight of our holiday overall providing the perfect balance to some of the busier locations we visited. We look forward to returning when our travel plans next take us in this direction.

For those who want a romantic away from it all stay this property is superb. Beautifully restored by the owners with a lovely outdoor pool and only two other guest properties it really was perfect for us on our honeymoon. Within easy travelling of Florence, Siena a car is a must but in terms of relaxing this was perfect. The owners are very helpful and happy to recommend any visits, restaurants that you may require. All in all a stunning break and highly recommended.
