"Moontana" is a 2010 built Rivergum home located a short 300m walk from the beautiful and secluded Simms Cove, Moonta Bay. Comprising of 4 bedrooms (see description below), large open plan kitchen/lounge area, 2 bathrooms, reading room and laundry with washing machine.

Fully equipped kitchen with stove top/oven, large fridge, accessories i.e. kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery and glassware, pots and pans for all your holiday needs for up to 8 people.
Free wifi available
Reverse-cycle split system air conditioner in lounge area with 42 inch plasma TV.

Ceiling fans in 3 Bedrooms.

Main Bedroom has huge en-suite hidden behind built in robes.

Large paved outside entertaining area with verandah and 6 burner BBQ. Lawn area for kids to play including a replica 'Moontana' cubby house. Fully enclosed backyard.

Close to Port Hughes and Moonta Jetties, cafes, general store post/office, tavern, playgrounds, golf courses and the Moonta Mines.



LOCALITY

A popular holiday town with good beaches, jetty and fishing, Moonta Bay is located on the shores of Spencer Gulf 168 kilometres from Adelaide. Its sandy beaches and jetty make this township a real draw card for fishermen, families and holidaymakers alike. While here, take the opportunity to go on a fishing charter, and use local knowledge to find the secret fishing spots for a great catch.

Moonta Bay and Port Hughes are close neighbours of the small business centre of Moonta. The towns are very popular with people in retirement and holidaymakers, especially families. The Port Hughes jetty offers excellent fishing opportunities, and the area is also very popular with boat fishers and charter boats. The beaches are stunning to look at with wide sandy shores, flat clear blue green water and are excellent for families; and the jetty provides beautiful views of the coast and beaches when looking back to the mainland.

Over regulated and unfriendly

The check in and location were both as advertised and as to be expected. However, we were taken back by the numerous rules listed around the property, which gave it an incredibly unfriendly and unwelcoming appearance. While I have stayed at many rental and holiday homes before, I have never encountered such a bizarre micromanagement of adults. Rather than providing images in the cupboard of the glassware layout, it would appear to be easier to allow adults to place glassware ‘as found.’ We would not recommend the stay based on this. We found ourselves not wishing to use the provided amenities to cook, and left earlier than we had planned. For a more comfortable and welcoming property, propose the checkin email provide these rules, and have a single copy on the countertop.

Moonta Bay relaxation

This property is perfect to get away for a couple of days or more and enjoy everything the western side of the peninsula has to offer. The property was very clean and tidy and built for purpose.

Lovely property in a convenient location

Andrew has been very responsive and accommodating. Property is conveniently located between Port Hughes jetty and Moonta Bay jetty - so easy to get around and in a quiet area. House is well equipped and has plenty of space for a large group. We have loved our short stay and will definitely be back.

Perfect house for our cycling group

Moontana was all we hoped for - clean, spacious, bright and a lovely outdoor area. 2 bathrooms was great and the location was quiet but central. A secure backyard for all our bicycles also. Communication between myself and the owner was excellent.

Family Friendly

Loved the stay, all facilities are provided. We stayed here 3 years ago and loved it then, so came back. Very family friendly with kids toys, games, puzzles, books and a cubby house outside. The only thing I would recommend is a fence, so the younger children can go outside without parents worrying they would run on the road. Had a lovely relaxing time, 5min walk to the beach. Would definitely come back and recommend to friends / family

Beautiful house

We found the rental very easy to relax and enjoy some great family time. well laid out to either play family games or enjoy time to yourself to just sit and read a book. The only negative was the storage cupboards in each room were a little cluttered which didn't leave a lot Of room for clothing/belongings. But this would be easily remedied with a quick spruce through. Other than that would be happy to stay again and thoroughly enjoyed our stay :)

Not wheelchair accessible

Whilst the location was good and generally the property was clean and tidy, we specifically asked the property manager, via email, whether the property was wheelchair accessible, as it is listed as being so in the details. We were told yes it was. Upon arriving, there was a small step which the wheelchair was unable to get over. We found some thin paving bricks on the property and used these to assist with getting the wheelchair into the property. This did not work. The other entrances to the house were also inaccessible. The shower alcove did not safely fit a shower chair either. We went to use the BBQ and found this to be filthy; it had not been cleaned by the previous user. We ended out leaving the property early as it became too stressful trying to manoeuvre the wheelchair in and out of the house. We did not enjoy the experience.
