My friend and I have stayed at Knoll Cottage several times, and have already booked it again for an autumn break, so it is pretty obvious that we enjoy staying here! The cottage is warm and friendly,, the beds comfortable, the space generous and we have a bathroom each. The kitchen is generously provided with all the pots, pans and utensils that we need, and I think we have actually now mastered the rather complicated electric hob - although we do have to unearth the instructions from the depths of a cupboard each time. For non-techies, the instructions on how to operate the smart TV 'with apps' is not really adequate, and when faced with four separate unmarked remotes, I think longingly of my flat screen TV at home with its single remote which even operates the DV player. However, we cracked the system enough to watch BBC channels and the DVD player, although we could not find any Freeview channels.
We had a power outage one evening when a fuse tripped, and even a friendly neighbour could not find the fuse box. Luckily, the property manager was able to give us instructions. While later browsing the dossier provided, I discovered that what I had thought was a single page of information was actually five, clipped together and pushed into the same plastic wallet. The location of the fuse box was given at the very end of page five. I put the pages into separate wallets, so hopefully future guests will not miss anything.
