Enjoyed a wonderful week in Carven House.

Enjoyed a wonderful week in Carven House. This is our second stay at this lovely property. It is extremely comfortable and has been decorated and modernised to a high standard without losing its original character. Superbly located in the centre of Rothbury which is a very friendly town with all the amenities needed. We look forward to returning for a third time.

Perfection , location, amenities , the house is gorgeous and everything you need , the location is perfect for other towns and beauty spots not to far from Newcastle and the metro centre, seahouses and Berwick al little further but well worth the trip . Rothbury is beautiful with river walks at the bottom of the town plenty of pubs that all do good food , la Mensa (Italian) is outstanding with their food and service.We both enjoyed our visit , very relaxing and the people of rothbury are very welcoming. Would thoroughly recommend

Our stay at Carven House for one week was perfect.

Our stay at Carven House for one week was perfect. We are a couple with a dog and found the house warm and welcoming, equipped to a high standard. The décor was fresh whilst in keeping with the period and the kitchen is obviously very new and well equipped. All rooms are typically large for a period property and very comfortably equipped. The location was great and perfect as dog owners. Immediately outside the front of the house are grass areas for the final evening "walk", and to the rear is a lovely (off lead) riverside walk which became the morning exercise. The village is extremely friendly, with everyone keen to say hello and chat. Local pubs were great with four to choose from! We chose Rothbury as a base for exploring the coast and countryside. We also found good walks directly from the village if you fancy a day without driving. Parking outside the house was easy and everywhere in the village is free. All in all, a great week in a lovely house and perfect location.
