“From the time that we were welcomed by Teo to to the grace of having my oversized goshuincho signed before departure, the serene and uplifting atmosphere of the monastery was a balm. The meals were delicious, the tour was informative and reverent, and the temple complex across the road was a joy. Our rooms was elegant and simple. 10/10. ”

“The room was clean and large. The food was excellent and the monks were friendly and helpful. The grounds and facility was beautiful. We were blessed with a fresh snowfall to make it even more beautiful. Keep in mind if you go in the winter, even though your room is toasty warm, the halls are not. So any walking to dinner, a ceremony, THE BATHROOM, is all in freezing temperatures and I never got hot water from the tap to wash my hands with.

“Clean and uniquely decorated room. So interesring to stay inside a station. Wifi is fast too. Noise from the train is not a problem at all.
Would be better if it offer free/cheaper luggage storage before checkin, 1000JPY per hour just too much.”
