Great Family Week

Family beach vacation 2024

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family enjoyed our stay at Starboard. The bedrooms, kitchen and living areas certainly met our needs. The community pool is lovely and the house location is very nice. The beach access is literally right across the road. We did a lot of cooking during our stay and the kitchen had everything we needed. The enclosed garage area was appreciated from a security and storage standpoint.My only gripe is that the layout of the house is a little different as there are several bedrooms on the first floor and then the main living area and kitchen are on the second floor so you do a lot of stair-packing with groceries. Parking space is also very limited, especially if you drive larger trucks or SUVs that won't fit into the garage. Overall, our stay was very satisfactory and we'd consider renting this property again.

Great Week at Murrell's Inlet

We had great week staying in this beautiful house directly across street from path to beach. House was comfortable and spacious enough for everyone to spread out. Kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, utensils and cookware. Very enjoyable beach week!

Just not for my group

If I would have seen the floor plan of the house, I probably would not have rented it. The majority of our supplies had to be carried up two flights of stairs. My group of ladies were not young and the stairs were too much. I looked forward to go to the beach, but that meant two flights of stairs down and two flights of stairs up. The house lacked storage for things like coolers, boxes, etc. It would have been nice to have a storage closet for these items. The lighting was limited in the living room. It was dark when we tried to read material. There was little storage in the bathrooms and no place to put your suitcase except on the floor. It would have been nice to have more "senior" equipment in the bathroom. Perhaps a handicap rail beside the toilets and benches in the showers. One room didn't have a lightbulb in the lamp. Maybe an elevator would have made a positive difference.

Fall Break Fun!

We had to delay our trip a day because of Hurricane Ian and a sizable storm surge. Garden City Realty was amazing as we were trying to check in. They communicated by email and phone several times a day to keep us informed as to when we could get into Starboard. The storm surge knocked out the Internet/cable and maintenance was so prompt in getting it fixed. Starboard is a wonderful home! We had 6 kids and 5 adults and there was plenty of room. The home is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. The bonus living room upstairs off the bedroom was an added extra! Beach access is very convenient, just across the street. You can see the ocean from the porch balconies. We loved staying at Starboard!

Pool was directly outside the garage door for easy and quick access. We called maintenance one time and they arrived within a few hours. The kitchen Needs new frying pans and a can opener. The coffee maker needs replaced. Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely stay again.

Loved this section of the beach as it was mostly just the other people renting along that strip, so not nearly as busy as closer to Myrtle. Plenty of space for our party of 12. Everything was pretty clean when we arrived, except for the two coffee pots that were there. The floors probably could've used a bit more of a scrub, but it's hard to expect a beach house floors to be spotless, so it wasn't that big of a deal. Would have been nice to have a few more basic necessities such as dish soap, salt and pepper, maybe a few more kitchen items, but overall was just what we needed.

The public access was directly in front of the house so it was quick and easy access to the house. The only thing I would say is that the beds could have been a little more comfortable. Seem to be worn and could use some new mattresses but overall, a great house! Was clean and had everything we needed!

Happy New Year's Escape

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property is exactly as described and provided the perfect getaway for 3 families! Plenty of room, well-stocked kitchen, and a great location!! The bedrooms are good sized and the bedding is comfortable. Common spaces provide ample room for multiple groups and conversations. The garage space saved our rainy weekend with room enough to play cornhole and hang out. With the weather, we had limited beach time but the access is directly across the street. There are several steps involved, though, so might not be the easiest if you have a bunch of beach items during the summer.We had an issue with the ice maker and maintenance responded promptly. They were unable to repair it but we were offered reimbursement for our ice purchases. Honestly, the ice maker would not be sufficient for a large group anyway so we didn’t take them up on the offer, though it was appreciated. A stand-alone icemaker (and maybe a second refrigerator) would make this home totally perfect! Highly recommend!!!

Fall Vacation

Very pleased. Key code did not work upon arrival but they immediately sent someone to reset the code. The power was not on in the house but they had it on within 30 minutes. Home is beautiful and there was plenty of room. Very happy with our stay.

Lovely, spacious home

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When we arrived we were told our rental had a maintenance problem and were offered this home in exchange. The staff was wonderful to work with and very helpful. The house was very nice and so close to the beach. The garage was a great convenience. Overall, though, the house should have been much cleaner. The quilts on all the beds were dirty. The laundry area had lots of sand in front of the machines and generally not clean. The landing at the top of the stairs from the garage (walls, ceiling, window) was very dirty with many spider webs, bugs and dirt. False eyelashes were found on the pillow in the master bedroom. Spider webs in bathrooms, the banisters - especially around newel posts - were very dirty and the stove top was not clean. We usually leave homes cleaner than they were when we got there, but this one truly needed to be cleaner when we arrived. We truly appreciated the quick replacement location and overall had a wonderful stay, but the housekeeping needed improvement.

Fabulous week at the Starboard in Garden City

The location was perfect and the home was beautifully decorated. Everyone was satisfied with the cleanliness of the entire unit. The kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed for food prep. We could not have asked for a more enjoyable week. We needed a pool for two youngsters and the community pool was perfect. We would rent this house again with no reservation. A number of our folks went deep sea fishing and theMarlin Quay was close. The Arcade, water park,and puttputt golf were conveneiently located

The parking was a bit limiting, especially because we all had large SUV’s. The staff at Garden City Realty was very friendly and accommodating. Of course, there were minor housekeeping issues, but none that could not be easily corrected.

Booted out early

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Was able to enjoy first few days of vacation, prior to mandatory evacuation, with other family members, who traveled from Virginia, Georgia, and Tennessee, for our yearly shared vacation. We have rented from several rental agencies, but most pleased with Garden Realty's rentals and especially rentals in Murrells Inlet. Due to pending storm we all arrived running and we were able to still do some of the activities we enjoy doing in MB. Sad to have to leave early, but took more great memories of MB home with us. Always plenty to do and see when our family members meet in MB. We'll see you again next year.
