"This is one of the most unique older hotels you’ll ever stay in. There’s a crazy giant couch, a weird Alice in Wonderland chess set on the rooftop overlooking a bunch of neon casino signs along the river, each room has an artist theme (but we keep ending up in the Russel room) and a fun story about the place on the elevator that only gets you to the 2nd floor if you hit the 3rd floor button first, then the 2nd a second time, and the decor and almost-secret-passageway-like hallways will keep anyone entertained just walking around. Good breakfast and I enjoyed the infused water selections. They were refreshing and the staff treated my parrot like he was a person. My only complaint is the bathtub in the Russel room is very slippery; my tailbone recovered, but it took some time soaking in the sixties era jacuzzi jets. "

"Property is just as described. The porch over the water is serene. Fish weren't biting, the area is slightly flooded, but a very relaxing getaway. The bed is comfortable. Everything you need for cooking is available, just bring your groceries and don't forget the coffee. The town of Jefferson is nearby with nice restaurants and plenty of antique shops."

"Today is April 21, 2024. The property (including the grounds) is well maintained and clean. It's rural, so during sleeping hours it's pretty quiet--though there was a train around 0445 on Saturday. I don't know if I would have heard it if I wasn't already awake, though it's certainly not "off in the distance". (look at a map) I didn't hear one on Friday between midnight and 0800. The room was very clean as was the bathroom, closet, and refrigerator. Everything was "modern" and well-kept; no worn furniture, stains anywhere, etc, that could have made it seem in need of upkeep. I've got nothing but good things to say. I'll be back next year if the convention is held again. "
