RUN AWAY from this property

We arrived to a house that was not ready, and an absentee owner from out of state who initially responded to our request to change thermostat (set to 78). While the housekeys were where they were supposed to be, both garage door remotes were inoperable. One was smashed to BITS & 2nd was corroded. Had to use the outdoor panel code for TEN week stay, which was extremely inconvenient & dangerous during the summer thunderstorms. No additional communication occured unless initiated by us. The house roof supports were falling off, single-pane windows had vertical blinds that were broken, backyard fence was replaced but didn't use it for our pet because full of sand spurs & cut her paws. Furniture inside & out was old, stinky and needs to be replaced. The next door neighbor (#6) looks like a garbage heap with containers & furniture in and around the yard. "Friends" park on yard, drive & in front of the house overnight We were wary of the inhabitants. There was nothing we liked or used, outside of the kitchen & living & master bedroom. Left behind some furnishings (desk, rugs, pantry items) we could not take to our new home. Told Owner when vacated, & got NO RESPONSE/THANK YOU!!! Unfortunately (we know why now) Owner has a NO CANCELLATION or refund policy. We had prepaid our 75 day rez of $10k+, as he required. Otherwise, we would have checked out after the first day! This property should not charge more than $59/night because of it's flop-house condition. BUYER BEWARE!

Fantastic

My adult kids and I who are all newbies to HomeAway decided on Dominicks place to visit Florida and attend the Coke Zero Sugar 400 NASCAR race. It turned out to be the absolute perfect decision. My kids and I loved the house! We loved the location, the beach a 2 minute walk away, nice quiet street,, 30 minute drive to the track, everything you want or need is just down the road like publix, stores, restaurants etc, it’s all right there nearby. The house is equipped with everything including coolers, bicycles, beach chairs, bag chairs, beach umbrella, a wagon to pull the supplied duffel bag full of buckets and scoops and toys for the little ones at the beach. The beach is extremely clean. Dominick was very quick to respond to any questions and helpful. We were 100% happy with this rental. We will return next year to go to the race because my kids fell in love with NASCAR Daytona racing and the beach and Dominicks place lol..... true story. Thank you Dominick!! Very nice location. House worked perfect for us.

Very nice being so close to the ocean. You could sit on the porch and listen to the water. Clean place and convenient location would go again.

We stayed for 9 days and hated to leave. Very pleasant experience for all four of us and our pups. The fenced in back yard was a blessing. The house was stocked with everything we could possibly need. The policy of replacing toiletries, etc. was very smart as we didn't have to rush out to get anything immediately. There was plenty of room and seating areas. The only thing that would have made it perfect for my husband, who has a bad back, would have been a comfortable chair to sit in, but the rest of us were comfortable. We would definitely come back here in the future..

Aqua Vista fun

House was clean. Great location. We come every year for races and week at the beach. It was great to be able to bring our dogs. Garage door opener did not work but all else was very good.

Very comfortable home .

We have used VRBO for several years now , we have never had a bad experience. This home was just as stated on the web site, owner was very nice, and helpful. Hope to stay here again.

Absolutely wonderful location for vacation!

The property was very clean and well maintained. The back yard is secluded and includes 2 furnished porches, one of which is screened in. Also has a nicely furnished front porch. Wonderful location, just a short walk to the beach with access at the end of the street. 4 houses from A1A. We loved the experience and will definitely return!

very good could do with a new shower in the bathroom.

Very nice and clean place, everything was there you needed, it was like home from home, the shower in the bathroom didn't work that well but would not put me off using this property again, the owner was on hand if anything was needed, overall could not ask for more a great place.

Great location!

Ormond by the Sea is a quiet spot, away from the traffic and craziness of Daytona Beach. We enjoyed the relative emptiness of the beach and were just a few miles and over a bridge from shops, stores and other amenities. The home was obviously built in the mid-century era but has been updated and well maintained. The bathroom off the master bedroom is small, which is typical for the age of the home. The only problem we had was when a tropical storm blew through and the roof leaked. I contacted the owner, who said he would call someone the next day, but no one arrived during the remainder of our stay to check out the problem.

Awesome relaxing vacation

My husband and I spent two weeks at dominicks beach house. We loved it, we love the area, it's quiet and close to the beach, which is our ideal vacation. The beach house was spacious and clean and comfortable. Would definitely love to come back. Thanks Dominick for sharing your vacation home with us.

Great house in a great location!

The house is very comfortable, and laid out for an easy, restful stay. It is appointed with all the supplies that you need to cook in the kitchen or have a barbecue. We enjoyed the Florida room to sit and play cards, enjoy the night air, and not have to be worried about getting eat up by bugs. If it is rainy, and you want to stay in, you have cable TV, DVD, board games, and of course Wi-Fi. It is conveniently located to the beach, grocery store, restaurants, and of course Daytona. Love staying at this house, and look forward to the next time!

beautiful place

We spent two wonderful weeks in this house in April. It was clean and really close to the beach. There are many different stores and supermarkets nearby. And of course if you are looking for more attractions Daytona Beach is close. We enjoyed our stay and planning on coming back one day.

Horrific, horrific, unimaginable experience - Lesson Learned. Words cannot even explain this terribl

We have come to Ormond Beach for the last 7yrs & know the neighborhood well. It is a very safe/friendly neighborhood. Rented numerous homes in the area & never have had any issues. We have also become friends with the homeowners we rented from. In looking at the pictures of the homes we thought this home would be suitable for us as I like to be as close to the beach as possible, with a private fenced in yard. In looking at the reviews everything seemed ok, except for a few issues with cleanliness of the home. When we pulled up we noticed that the home was surrounded by cameras. It made us feel extremely uneasy as again we know this is a very safe area. We proceeded to look around the parameter of the home & the cameras continued to surround the property. It got even worse. All the patio areas, including the screened in dining patio area also contained security cameras that faced the table while you were eating. ALL patio seating areas contained these cameras facing directly at you no matter where you were seated. Typically on vacation I like to sunbathe in the backyard, which is why we only rent fenced in backyard private homes, and the cameras were facing every inch of the property. We proceeded to find another security camera inside the garage facing the laundry area directly. Being in a private home, doing laundry, you may opt to remove your clothes & toss them in the wash before going into the shower but you could not do this here and would have to remember you are on camera. We immediately contacted Dominick within mins to ask what was going on with all these cameras. He new we were on the property instantaneously as the entire home is a SMART home that he has access to from his home. When questioning the cameras he said that HE ONLY WATCHES THEM if their is an issue but they are always recording. A professional company is not being used to watch you & video tape you while you are on vacation. This is a stranger who you know NOTHING about. We felt it was creepy. When questioning he got defensive as we were upset, and felt this should have been disclosed in the listing & pics. Slightly moved 1 of the cameras to see if he was watching us & immediately our phone rang, he was upset. He then proceeded to lock the home down & shut the power off while I was in the home by myself terrified in the dark. Once I got out, never heard from him again & reached out numerous times. He has our $ & we did not stay in the home. Vacation Ruined

Beach House

Nice neighborhood. Excelente house. Walking distance to the beach. Dominick provided great communication. The only concern is the fact I had to perform the cleaning where I paid for cleaning fee.
