We loved staying here and hope to stay again! It was very cozy and the area was great. Nice to be able to walk to the cafe, brewery, and more right down the road! We loved the hot tub after hiking all day at mt rainier.
Awesome house, location, and hosts! We were unable to have a fire or do outdoor excursions due to weather but that didn’t ruin our time. Would love to plan a return trip for a dryer time of year!
The house was clean and tidy and in a location that is in walking distance, one block, of the town center. Someday it will be even better when the remodel of the adjoining structure is completed. ( I don't know if they plan on renting both structures.)
We had a great time staying at the Parsonage!!! There were 6 of us staying in Packwood to do some mountain biking in the area and Jake's place checked every box. The house is right in town...no need to go looking for beer or coffee when they are on the same block. We enjoyed a soak in the hot tub, and the entire place was immaculate and well stocked. looking out the indow to seeing Elk grazing never gets old. Beds were comfortable and Jake was quick to respond to the few questions we did have. Will definitely be back and would recommend the Parsonage as the first place to look at booking if you are planning a visit to this area.. Thanks for really enhancing our vacation guys!
This place was truly awesome for a week long ski trip to white pass. Super cozy, walking distance to everything in Packwood, and a spacious living area and well appointed open kitchen.
Beautiful location and the hosts were great! The property is a gem, with great outdoor spaces and a fully functional kitchen, it’s perfect for families with kids.
Great property! Close to everything! Easy and efficient for our stay. Outdoor space is lovely to stargaze or just sit by the fire! Only advice is to plan ahead for eating out in Packwood.
Absolutely loved our stay in town with easy access to skiing at White Pass. Jake was communicative and on top of all of our needs - especially when Hwy 12 closed down and we were stuck in Packwood. He was flexible with us staying an extra night - we could not ask for a better host! He and his wife own the mercantile store in town as well- which is a must see stop! Loved our stay and we plan on coming back to the Parsonage house!
Sayed here wth family and friends as a jump off point for hiking at Mount St. Helens. The location was perfect for our trip. The pictures on the listing are very accurate. This home was beautifully and tastefully restored. It had plenty of room for our group of 6. The kitchen was large and had everything we needed for our dinner and breakfast. Also had 2 coffee pots, a drip machine and single k cup. Jake was always quick to reply to emails and check in was a breeze. Very short walk to downtown Packwood. You won't be disappointed with the Parsonage.

I could never communicate with the property owner, I never checked in I never stayed there, I ended up staying at the econo. I tried creating an account with vrbo I tried logging in with Expedia, google, Facebook but I always got blank pages. Due to me having no other way to contact the property owner I did not feel comfortable staying there. 500 just gone.
Our family has a number of challenges when finding accommodations when travelling. There are six of us, with kids ages 4 to 16. A couple of us have celiac, so we can't eat out and appreciate being able to cook. And I have perfume sensitivities, which can leave me ill for days after very little exposure - a true challenge to accommodate! But sometimes travel is necessary; we came to Mt. Ranier for the memorial of a beloved relative. And we are so grateful to have been able to stay here.
After communicating my needs, our family was wonderfully accommodated by our gracious hosts - especially my sensitivities. My sheets were washed without fragrance, perfumed products were put out of the way (but since I tolerate essential oils, those products were kept out, which was pleasant), the house was aired out before we arrived - and the owner even ensured we had an air purifier to clean the air of any lingering fragrances or wildfire smoke. There was wildfire smoke in the area at the time, but having a place to retreat to with clean air meant I could recover from the worst effects quickly.
On top of our special needs, the property was just perfect for us. Everyone had enough space for sleeping. The dining table was spacious, and we could all eat together. The kitchen had what we needed to prepare meals and eat. The living room was cozy, with a large table that was good for holding our gear or spreading out a jigsaw puzzle in the evenings. The wifi was reliable, no issues at all. We didn't have a chance to try out the hot tub this time, but that was available as well.
As for location - the area is gorgeous at this time of year! Red bushes and shrubs and maples between conifers over hills and mountainsides throughout Mount Ranier National Park. Hills with mist. Gorgeous.
We braved the smoke briefly to get a coffee at the Mountain Goat cafe, just two blocks away - walking past elk and ravens (not crows!) on our way there. The cafe had good beans and interesting teas like an urban Seattle cafe - but big servings, drizzles, and whipped cream like a rural cafe - the best of both worlds! (hey, I like my coffee!)
The trip reminded my husband and I that we haven't taken the kids to Mount Ranier for a vacation in almost a decade - not in the youngest one's life! We're hoping to be able to come back and stay here for a longer visit when we can just kick back and enjoy ourselves.
Winter weather delayed our trip by one day but Jake was really great at letting us know about road conditions. The house was big enough for our family of 5 and my youngest son appreciated that he didn’t get a bunk bed (he’s 29 LOL). It was decorated very tastefully for Christmas! We’d really like to go back and stay again in the summer.
Although it is downtown, it doesn't feel that way. Quiet, charming, and everyone had an amazing time! Had several Elk visit us through the night. Will definitely stay again!
Stayed at Jake's place for a trip with my wife and dog to Mt. Rainier. House was well decorated and clean, and very central to restaurants and bars in Packwood. Comms were great with the hosts.
