Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The property is next to a bayou and has a lovely view. The owner is very responsive to any issues that might arise, and there is an onsite property manager that is there frequently.
Visitors should know that you do not have the entire outside property to yourselves. The Plantation is part of a group of five or six rentals referred to as The Hideaway. The congregate breakfast room is roughly equivalent to a sun porch and adjacent to the plantation living space. It was not used by the other guests much so it was not a problem for us. Also, the outside porch for the "Banana" unit, is right next to one of the plantation bedrooms. If the Banana people decide to have coffee on the porch at 8am while you are still in bed, you will hear every word of the conversation. You are able to rent both units if you have a larger group and need the extra space.
Panama City is still struggling to recover from Hurricane Michael. This is a pleasant option if you are in the area, you just need to know what to expect.
