A gem in the 8th arr.

Rarely do you find a hotel that "checks all the boxes" for excellence as does this fine hotel. From the moment of check in to check out, this hotel is a real gem. The staff is top notch, the furnishings and the rooms are excellent. We loved our balcony room especially.

Hotel sobrevalorado. Pedí una cuna al llegar a las 9 pm y las sábanas llegaron 2 horas después; además el aire acondicionado no funciona bien y ni siquiera hicieron el turn down service. Viejo, sin amenidades, mal servicio con niños y un elevador inseguro; no merece 5 estrellas. Lo único bueno es la ubicación.

this review is uncomfortable for me to write. I have been a regular guest as Prince de Galles and enjoy it. lately however there seem to be a lack of details and attention that is just puzzling to me. we arrived early at 8 AM due to an overnight flight, I understand that check in is at 3 PM and do not hold it against the hotel if they were not able to squeeze us in early. however it seems no effort was made to get us our room early. from 3 PM we kept getting "5 minutes, or 10 min" and waited until 4 PM and I just wish they comunicated better. in fairness, the manager call and apologized which we appreciated. these things happen. But as we were leaving again it took more than 30 min to get the bellman to get our luggage's down from the room and I almost had to go get them myself. overall this may seem minor but not what this establishment accustomed us to. I think when we choose a place of that standing, details matters and I hope management takes a look at that.

The food for all meals was very good . Cleanliness of hotel great - the lobby, bathrooms , the room . Great location to explore Paris. It is an older hotel ( 1925?) so the rooms were smaller - we had a balcony which helped the feel of being open . Mattress, pillows, linens great . The room temp would only go down to 19 celsius in the thermostat . not sure it reached that and with the thickness of the comforter seemed a little warm in late May. They had construction in the room above us one day , but made it right with a food service credit

We arrived to check in at 3pm when we were told our room would be ready. We were told a Marriott member had our room on a “late checkout” until four pm and they would buy us a drink. Our room was not ready until 6pm. There were piles of garbage in front of the hotel and garbage under our bed when permitted to finally enter our room.

Unfortunately, our check in process was terrible. We had traveled all day and did not expect our rooms to be ready when we got there at noon so booked a tour and came back around 4:30pm. When we came at noon the person at the front desk told us she didn't know when our rooms would be ready because the family in them had a late check out. We did not need to be in the rooms until 4:30 so we didn't worry about it. when we returned at 4:30 the rooms were still not ready and we were told there was nothing they could do, the rooms just weren't ready. This is a 5 star hotel which charges 5 star hotel prices... check in is at 3pm. The staff was rude and unhelpful. We have stayed at numerous luxury hotels and have never had such a terrible experience. Not only were the staff unhelpful but the service for breakfast was equally bad. Cream for the coffee never came, the orders were not taken properly and we were overcharged both mornings. Overall we were very disappointed in our stay. The only very friendly staff was the doorman.

Below expectation!

The breakfast is excellant. However, there were many minor details which were not caring enough, given the relative high price of the room. For instance, I requested for an early check-in during booking but the room was at least an hour later than the quoted check-in time. Moreover, there was supposed to have two bathrobes all the time, which was not so and even no bathrobe was provided after the room was cleaned! Not to mention the fact that the shower pressure was really weak!
