"A most charming place to stay nestled in the hills of the Massif Central, this was formerly the village school house and retains many original features. Dinner was provided by the hosts and was particularly well received. Breakfast was basic but no less delicious for that."

"This place shouldn't really be classified as a hotel, it's old and decrepit, the reception when we arrived was inaccessible, we weren't given any information by email on how to access it and the lady who eventually opened the door only spoke French so we interpreted various codes to access the lift, the front door and the room. The furnishings are anything from 20-40 years old, the room was beyond basic with no air conditioning and upon leaving the window open to be able to sleep all we could...

The facilities in the room were great: shower over bath, separate toilet, mini fridge, shutters. Lovely and clean. Lovely view. We didn’t have breakfast as we had had a big meal the previous night in a lovely local restaurant."

"We found it difficult to enter the hotel when we arrived. Although the room can best be described as adequate it was far from welcoming , the staff were good at there jobs but again not welcoming. The best is adequate and to say we won’t stay there again says it all."

"This is an amazing find such lovely family owners took great care of us - the rooms perfect and clean. The home cooked food was amazing and service impeccable. Safe parking and so close to the Puy Mary volcano mountain area. Will stay again!"

"Hotel was well placed for an overnight stopover. Staff were lovely. Room was clean and well appointed however the shower was a little small for me. The only real disappointment was the breakfast - it doesn't live up to the photos shown on the Expedia website - you have a croissant and a pain au chocolat on a plate, a small glass of juice and a coffee ... that's it."

Ce qui est étonnant c'est que le balcon dessert toutes les chambres sans recoupement il faut dont fermer la baie et tirer le rideau car une personne d'une chambre voisine pourrait s'introduire ou regarder. A moins que le balcon ne serve d'issue de secours mais ça je ne sais pas."

Catherine was so friendly & helpful & even booked us dinner at a local restaurant which was delicious & amazing value. If you are after a great value taste of rural French hospitality, the Sandine & Catherine will be hard to beat. "
