The best view in Pisgah Forest awaits you in this stylish 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home in the Pisgah Forest, NC area. Wake up to big mountain views from almost every room in the house. Just 8 minutes from downtown Brevard, NC the location is excellent for your vacation. This private home is on two levels with plenty of indoor and outdoor space. The main level has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, kitchen w/ breakfast bar, living room w/ fireplace, big wraparound deck, and formal dining area. The lower level is a walk out basement and has two bedrooms, den w/ TV and outdoor patio area with firepit. The two downstairs bedrooms share a unique bathroom - each bedroom with a private sink and toilet, with a shared shower between the two. There are plenty of chairs and tables for the main deck so you can enjoy the view. on the side of the wraparound deck, you will find a propane grill. Quality furniture and furnishings, linens, puffy mattresses and more are what you can expect in the Journey House. The owners carefully curated this vacation home to be a place to create memories and return to again and again. See for your self why the Journey House should be on your bucket list when you visit the Brevard, NC area. Carport to park two cars in.

The Host
As your host during your stay, White Squirrel Realty is easy to reach by text or phone. Each home is supplied with fresh, professionally laundered linens and supplies to make your stay comfortable. Our cleaning crew is local, paid a living wage and are trained so that you can enjoy your vacation in a clean home.
Confirmed guests will receive a text message to the cell phone on the reservation with a link to the essential information you need to enjoy your stay like the door code and the directions. The digital guide book has information on the property and also on the area including restaurants, grocery stores and popular destinations. Guests can go straight to the property at check-in time.

We loved Journey house! First the view from the deck was awesome! There are comfortable rocking chairs on the deck to enjoy the view. The house is close to town. It was well stocked. The cabinets are labeled! The owners went above and beyond to make sure guests have everything they need! There were even white noise machines in every bedroom, throw blankets, Convenient hooks on walls, and much more! I will stay here again in the future!

Fantastic stay!

The journey house was great. The view was beautiful. We loved spending time on the deck in the rocking chairs. The house was big and roomy. The beds were comfortable. We usually have to pad the mattresses with blankets, but these beds were perfect. The house was extremely well stocked. We have never been to one that was this well stocked. Our granddaughter was there. The house had a booster seat, kid dishes, and blocks. We will definitely return again.

Lovely view of the mountains

Very comfortable and clean. Kitchen is a bit small, but very well-equipped. The mountain views, especially at sunset and sunrise, were really beautiful. Management was very responsive about replacing some lightbulbs for us. We've been renting houses for family Thanksgivings in Western North Carolina for several years and this was our favorite.

June hiking trip

Our family had a really lovely time staying here. We went on long local hikes which even out for year old enjoyed and then came back and read books, did puzzles and rested. The view was lovely, one morning we saw deer in the yard. The house had everything we needed and we all agreed we would need to return!

Amazing View

The house was even better than the listing shows. It had everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. Even had cups and such for the kids which was great. Had plenty of games to play when it was cool in the morning and so close to town and hiking for when it warmed up. The view from the back porch was by far the best. Sitting out there at the end of the day and watching the sun set was a great way to end our days! We would definitely stay again!

I have an annual camp for my 6 grandchildren every year. My sister joins us each year. This was one of our favorite places. It was a home away from home since it was so well stocked from the kitchen to the bathrooms. The house was located as to seem you were isolated in the woods. The western view allowed us to see some beautiful sunsets. We were also pleased that no pets were allowed because my grandson is highly allergic. The back porch was my favorite place to be- from devotionals, to meals to crafts.

Wonderful Stay for the New Year

This rental had so many nice surprises, that you won't find in most rentals. The pantry had many tea and coffee varieties, creamora, condiments, and much more. Under the sink was a wealth of dishwasher soap, trash bags, etc etc. Tons of towels! Super comfortable leather couch and chair with ottoman. Fabulous view! Too cold for us to enjoy the balcony though. If you want a completely updated house, this one isn't for you. Kitchen is the original, however fantastically stocked. And the main bathroom is great but not updated. The other issue is the lower level basement with the 3rd and 4th bedrooms is much colder. We closed all the upstairs vents to try and get the heat to balance better. No one froze to death but I am picky about not being cold or hot when I rent a place. Dual zone heat and air would remedy that issue. Despite any of this it was a wonderful stay! Thank you!!

Beautiful mountain home!

Can’t say enough good things about this property or the management company, White Squirrel Realty. The realty company was consistently available and helpful. We will definitely be renting with them again. The house was spotless & fully stocked with many thoughtful above and beyond touches. It was the nicest rental any of the 4 couples had ever stayed in. Contactless check in made arrival & leaving a breeze. The coffee bar was amazing. The views were amazing. The fire pit was amazing. The decks were amazing. The beds were amazing. The game room was a blast. Yes, there are nerf guns with endless ammo that turned our husbands into kids again along with an old school video game machine with endless free arcade games. The furnishings were new & comfy. The kitchen was amazing & stocked for any occasion. Use of the garage for our bicycles was so convenient. There were way too many extra touches to list. You will not be disappointed. We were 4 adult couples & we never felt crowded. There are two well appointed living areas; a lovely reading area with the best chairs & a view of the mountains; a huge dining room; a huge deck with tons of chairs & a gas fire pit; a big back yard with Adirondack chairs and a wood burning fire pit; a patio downstairs & a private deck off the master. Plus there were enough TV’s for everyone to have their own.

We had the best time. The house is awesome every room has a view of the mountains.

Our stay was great the house is in a neighborhood but it’s tucked away so you have plenty of privacy. All rooms have a beautiful view of the mountains. There’s lots to do in the area we went hiking to the waterfalls, tubing one day, a trip to Brevard and a scenic drive on the parkway.

Spacious home with an amazing view. The kitchen is very well stocked - we cooked two large meals at home with ease. The furnishings and carpet are dated and could use an update. This is a great no-frills home for a large family or group.

Mountain retreat

My husband, myself, two daughters and son-in-law spent 4 nights at the cabin in mid August. At first the communication I had with the manager was slow and I waited awhile before I got any response from him. In particular, my daughter was recovering from cancer and we were concerned with her comprised immune system that the property wouldn’t be adequately cleaned seeing there were guests checking out at 10 and us checking in 5 hours later. The owners response was a little uncaring in My opinion in that he said if it was an issue for us we could Re clean ourselves when we checked in??? There were a couple Of other questions that I had asked that didn’t get answered until almost days before we were to check in. When we arrived the door code did not work so we spent some time in the phone with the property manager resetting them code which was a bit of a pain but not really that big of a deal. The last review I read stated that the garbage cans were full and and hadn’t been emptied ~ but the property manager came straight over and emptied them. Well low and behold the same issue happened to us and we only noticed on our second day when we had enough trash to out outside that both cans were indeed full and had been sitting now for two full days in the heat and it took my breath away when I opened the cans. I wondered if this had been a problem with the last guests that you’d think they would have made an extra effort to have had the cans emptied before we moved in. Besides those things for which I only took away 1 Star, the cabinwas slightly outdated furniture wise. The kitchen was nicely stocked with plates, utensils, pots and pans etc and a pantry of goods that were offered for us to use if we needed anything (I’m guessing stuff that other guests left as we did some too) the fooz ball table was fun. The views from the deck were spectacular ~ water pressure in the showers were great. Location to hiking trails and waterfalls were great. I would recommend ~ we had a nice family getaway

Great location and very clean!

This property is in a perfect location for families and has amazing views. The house was clean and well stocked. The yard was very overgrown, which was a shame and I never got a response via email or phone call from the POC listed for the property. I had a few questions on two occasions and after not getting a response, I called the main rental office and was able to get my questions answered from a lovely woman who answered the phone. The lack of communication was a disappointment and a bit nerve racking, but the rental company came through in the end. If you are a light sleeper or have loud people in your party, the bedrooms are right on top of each other and you can hear people walking around and talking from every bedroom. Bring ear plugs and a noise machine if this is a problem for you. We would definitely stay here again! The back porch view is amazing. We didn’t want to leave!

Wonderful Mountain Getaway!

Enjoyed getting away to the mountains for the weekend with my mother and sister. We spent a lot of time on the back deck, enjoying the spectacular view, and made great use of the kitchen amenities and smart TV. The house was very comfortable and clean!

Nice mountain getaway

Enjoyed a nice, relaxing long weekend with friends and family at this lovely mountain retreat. The view was beautiful. The home was clean and smelled nice when we arrived. The house was spacious, with comfortable beds and linens for all. We had a minor issue with trash outside trash cans needing to be emptied. Isaac the property manager was very responsive and took care of the issue quickly. The foosball and oversized bean bag chairs in the lower level were great fun.
